“Qualified” in Washington speak usually means easily influenced and most likely a sellout to the highest bidder.
Gaetz’s legislative history is one of taking on both right and left and pissing the entrenched bureaucracy off. The fights he has taken on have been reforming big govt, big business, etc. IMO there is a reason Washington DC is going nuts and it has nothing to do with “experience”.

They claim to understand but are only concerned about lobbyist and special interests when their guys get voted out of office. When someone actually gets voted in who may shake up that apple cart...we get to hear "threat to democracy" crying. They dont want real reform. They want govt bigger. They ultimately want big bureaucracy ruling their lives.

Getting back to the original intent of Title IX will be a big leap forward. It has been tarnished the last few years.
Trump accomplishes 3 things by nominating Gaetz. (1) It ended the House investigation, thereby saving a long-time ally. (2) Along those lines, it rewards a guy that has always been a big proponent. Even if you don't think he's going to be approved, you've saved his ass - as noted above - and can say, "I tried to give you one of the highest-ranking positions in my cabinet." (3) You also insulate the rest of your picks by making them seem more reasonable. While a RINO might certainly buck Gaetz, they aren't going to buck Gaetz, Gabbard, and a host of others without facing political blowback themselves. You essentially offer him up as a sacrifice to the Swamp.
