Willy Korn is the Co-Offensive Coordinator / Quarterbacks Coach @ CCU. I must’ve missed that. One of the many QBs that we’ve had transfer out.

Was he around 2010? Hard to imagine he wasn’t better than Brian Anderson. I remember Korn being very vocal that DOC felt his arm wasn’t strong enough but he knew the offense well enough to start.

They love him down there. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if they’d name him the next HC if this coach bails for the South Carolina opening.

We gave him a scholarship without working him out. When he showed up on campus, we found his injury was worse than he had disclosed, and they moved him to safety to try to make some use out of the scholarship. He transferred out instead, to Division II North Greenville, where he had a successful career on that level.

He may be a good QB's coach and coordinator, and he may have been a fine Division II QB, but he was not going to play for us, and I think the staff felt a little burned that he hadn't been more up-front about his injury. I think they were right to feel that way (even though I would think we'd have wanted to see him throw first before signing him).

Didn't we also have, during Doc's tenure, a pretty good lineman, defensive I believe, who was injured and told by our medical people in Huntington that he had a spinal condition that was possibly life threatening if he continued to play. Dude left, winded up in Philly, IIRC, and played ball either at Nova or Temple! Medical people aren't infallible, look at all the wild prognoses, guesstimates, etc., vis-a-vis COVID.
