Dirt moving at the Ballpark

Nothing in the bucket. Are you another person in a long line of tricksters trying to pull a fast one?

I can take the toe of the shoe on one of my feet and put it in the ground and move the dirt around a little. But am I really "building" anything??

Just ridiculous. Come on Mr Christian Spears let’s get going - let’s actually see that you mean to build this.

It was last noted that the west parcels for the baseball field project totaling 3.42 acres, which include the buildings in the pic, were owned by McGinniss Corporation. As of today, the associated map card (which tracks ownership changes) on the Cabell County Assessor Online Portal still shows McGinniss as the owner. Not sure any dirt can be moved on those parcels until the transfer occurs. Maybe someone else has more information on the property transfer progress.

If you move that shoe back and forth more than half a dozen times, you’ve made more progress in building a baseball field than Marshall has in 50 years.
Exactly. They are moving dirt. And that hasn’t been done before. I will call that progress for now.

All I know is we were told the goal was for construction to start by October. That’s a month, almost two (late October is 8+ weeks away) to go. I would love an update but I’m no more or less optimistic about the project today than after the announcement in the summer.

You can always count on curmudgeon cynicism with a healthy dose of Appalachian fatalism mixed into these threads.
.Thought this was going to be a quality thread. But. We screw it up again. We will never get it right.
