Bobby Petrino is still a thing. Dude has more lives than a cat.
Doc would be a better fit at FIU. Hope he gets another job - Akron would do well to hire him
Doc is at the age where most men are thinking about retirement. He will be 65 before next season kicks off.
Akron is just another MACer. Future phys ed teachers of Ohio. The type of athlete you recruit there is not the type of athlete DH has delt with.
I really don't know if ANYONE can really accomplish much at FIU. They have had three winning seasons, and fired both coaches that got them within 18 months of them. They have zero fans. Anybody who did accomplish anything there is certainly on the next plane out of Miami.
Petrino is a POS. Any school that hires him has to know that he will leave them high and dry ASAP, probably with an NCAA investigator on their doorstep. Akron seems like a class outfit, they don't need that.
Doc needs to enjoy retirement. He has the cash and put in his time. Akron needs to hire a young FCS or D2 and let the dude grow.
No one is a fit for FIU. After the stuff that just recently came out no one is going to want to be there. At least no one that was any pride or ambition.
I don't disagree about the school but he could recruit south fl all day long where he is known. Lighten the OOC schedule and a 5-6 win season is doable. If they want better than that they are delusional.
Not sure if Doc is as effective in SFL as he once was. I hope he just stays in retirement and enjoys the fruits of his career.
