Does anyone know if the ACLU is actually coming to Ravenswood?

Geaux, since you're a resident of Ravenswood, I'm sure you're aware of everything going on right now. I grew up there, had Christy for a teacher & my family knows them very well. I get the legal side & also why the community is outraged. But as soon as I saw that page pop up I knew it was going to turn into the hot slice of crazy that it quickly became. The organization that is involved (no ACLU yet) has actually been very level headed in my opinion. I think as long as the two sides don't get crazy, the ACLU will stay away. There's not enough press for them to care (i.e. self-promote) at this point.

why?
There is a park bench that was placed as a memorial to a teacher that died from that school. Apparently the bench has angels on it, and some organization thinks its a good idea to intrude, even though the bench has been there several years. Honestly I just found out today. I dont pay attention to the news.

Totally unrelated, but my the image of Ravenswood burned into my brain is living in Evans, WV in 1991-92 and driving into town and seeing "Scott Means is a Scab" painted on the road, with a effigy hanging, ostensibly, from a tree in this fellow's yard.

Yeah the union boys around here at that time were thugs. They also ran themselves right out of job because most of that plant closed because the union continued to demand increases to benefits and salaries while profits were declining.
