The polls may show that Donald Trump is losing to Hillary Clinton, but don’t you believe those polls. When the AC Nielsen Company selects a new Nielsen family, they disregard the new family’s results for the first three months. The reason: when they feel they are being monitored, people lie about what they are watching. In the first three months, knowing they are being watched, they will tune into PBS. But over time they get tired of pretending. Then it is back to The Kardashians.

The same goes for people who are being asked by pollsters for whom they are voting. They will not say Donald Trump. It is too embarrassing. But the truth is, they like Trump. He is just like their favorite shows on TV.

Interesting. So Rosenblum is basically saying what Cons have been suggesting for years....that mindless liberal entertainment has dumbed people down to the point, that they become too ignorant understand good from bad.

So....what happens to this opinion when Hillary wins???

If Hillary wins he will say that we still have hope.

It's funny, there really are no conservatives in entertainment, at least none that are decision makers, yet the liberals are the very ones that blame entertainment. The line about just giving people what they want is also BS. The reason for all the reality shows is pretty easy to understand, they are ridiculously cheap and easy to produce relative to (fully) scripted shows. You think the network would rather pay the Friends cast a million an episode each or pay some 15 minute seekers $50,000 to be on Amazing Race for a whole season?

People watch a lot of reality TV shows because there are a lot of reality TV shows. I think the early years of Survivor is the only one I ever watched, and a few episodes of Cake Boss just because I thought the cakes were cool. A lot of millennials only know reality TV because it's all they've ever been offered.

I guess my preference for online documentaries explains my vote for Gary Johnson.

If this guy is right, why did McCain lose when he chose Palin to be his running mate? I mean she actually went on to have a reality show. Her family is a damn trainwreck. Before she had her own show she was good TV, always saying something dumb and has nice legs and perky tits. That should have been enough to put McCain over the top, right?

Hey EG how many Hillary signs ( besides yours) have you seen in Wayne County?

Wayne county isn't going to negate New York City. The population hubs outnumber rural voters

wv's 5 electoral votes are definitely the deciding factor in this election.
Nobody has said that. However when he carries Ohio, Penn and Fl along with traditional red states he will beat her no doubt. The only way she wins is if they steal the election.

You might want to quit counting your chickens before they hatch. It's a shame you've been convinced by trump that the only way hillary wins is by stealing the election.

lol, the funny thing is, he could win oh, pa, and fl and still manage to lose the election. he's literally put many red states in play (utah-ish, nc, georgia, missouri, etc).

but anyway, pa is about over, it's about to join va and co solidly blue, that'd put her at 269. he might pull out ohio and florida, but it wouldn't be enough. good thing trump is campaigning and hanging out in texas and mississippi this week.

there is no way that Utah is voting for Hillary. Va could be a toss up.Georgia will stay red although in may move blue as the minority population continues to increase there but not this election no way IMO.

trump will win utah, missouri, and georgia, but the fact those states are even remotely in play at this point just go to show you what some people think of him.

virginia is pretty solidly hillary at the moment, barring something crazy happening i'd say virginia and colorado (and i'll throw in new hampshire) are blue states, which would put her at 253. that's what makes florida, ohio, and pennsylvania important, sitting at 253, should she win just one of those three states it's game over, and right now she has a solid lead in pennsylvania.

we're all only armchair political experts here, but it's insane that trump is visiting texas and mississippi this week, day 76 and day 75 out from the election. he should be essentially living in pennsylvania, ohio, north carolina, georgia, and florida. managing to win those states, and hoping missouri and arizona go red (which they should, but maybe throwing in an occasional visit here or there to those two states) is his path to the election.

Let the wench get elected. Let them destroy the country and then we can rebuild it the right way.

They sold out. Happy to be runner up status. The fact that many are openly campaigning against Trump in favor of a Hillary president..........killed them for me.
I've never understood how the GOP couldn't (or refused to) grasp Trump's rise against what the party had become. What they don't seem to understand now is if they don't support him, they really will get annihilated as a party. The GOP is dead. Long live the GOP.

Will be runner up with trump as well so what then?

My point is he would have been less likely a runner up had they actually supported him fully. with the effort of the media, the loser wanna be's in the GOP, and some of Trumps own errors he should be getting beat by 20+ right now. Yet he's within the margin of error on some polls.

The GOPs fvcked themselves not because of Trump....but because they abandoned him.

Raoul, can't say I am completely surprised. However, part of me believed that the potential for complete dismantlement of the party by openly campaigning against the Repub nominee would have kept some of them in check. IMO Trump didn't destroy the GOP. The GOP destroyed the GOP.

The focus over the next two years needs to be on building an alternative party to take the void left by the republicans abandoning the American people, i.e. those that don't live in large urban areas. I don't know if that's even possible in today's America. It would take a special kind of leader.

The issue is that on the local and state level the Republicans do a much better job than they do on the national level. That makes it hard to build a new party on a grass roots level.

Well stated...I agree......[nice legs & perky boobs]. The only problem with Mrs. Palin..."I bet she is a dictator in bed...TELLING you all the moves and how YOU can perform them...".

I agree with you raleighherdfan.
I still support that TRUMP is a part of the PLOT to elect our country's first female president. Were he not----he would have learned a long time ago to "shut his mouth a bit." He fell "hook, line & sinker" for the Kahn comments during the Demo Convention. He should have ignored the Kahns. He has become "more of a flamer" since both conventions. His mouth continues to get him "yellow flags" and if his campaign was a soccer match...Trump would be in the dressing room. Closing...our first lady president will put our Country into a deeper Dumpster than the first white-black Prez did.

Trump needs to sound more Presidential on illegal immigration if he wants to win. Like this guy:
