I think we should scale back as being
the worlds police force. I've always thought that unless it somehow strengthens our interests, which most of the time it doesn't. And don't mistake me for a pacifist. I'll avoid violence by not putting myself into situations in which they can occur. But I'll break my foot off into an ass just as quickly as I need to also. Just because I think Dr. King was a great man doesn't make me a pacifist.

Germany yes Japan no. It's too close to Korea and China and its a good deterrent for North Korea. That's why we are there

Germany is a huge hub for us. If a unit has a high enough priority they can get equipment delivered in theater within 8-12 hours. You could do the same out of Qatar, probably. We could mirror the airbases in Germany but scale it down.

The problem with that is the last time we did that those two got a little crazy and started a world war.

Japan is too vital with China and North Korea being in the region. Germany. Probably will never leave there and it is a good balance because of the Russians.
