I had picked a lot of upsets but I picked Duke to win it all. WV or My could have won it all this year. I thought coach K was going to throw a tantrum. He still has the very best high school player in America coming next year.

Duke lost, because they didn't take advantage of their strength, particularly in the overtime period. Toss the damn ball into Bagley, and let him go to work.
Can you elaborate on your statement? I'm no fan of Duke, but to claim they're the poster child for everything wrong with college sports simply doesn't make sense to me. They're successful both academically and athletically, and by most accounts, seem to do so by the book. To me, they should be a program that most should strive to mimic.
People can say what they want about UK, or the big state U in any state. Yeah, I get that.
But Duke is at a lower level. This is an island of, mostly northeastern, born-rich, over-privileged spoiled, mostly white, kids plopped down in the middle of the South where they conduct themselves with rude and condescending behavior towards players from other teams, whose lives they have no idea of the difficulty of, for four years, and then sit about and talk about how "we" did at the country club for the rest of their lives. All to support a group of kids who would be stopped by the gate guard if they were not on the basketball team.
Say what you want about UK, or WVU or OSU, or any state U, but there is something far worse about using people the way Duke does.
I have to say... it looks like Sam just hates everyone and everything, including Marshall in some ways. What exactly would make him happy other than Bob Huggins dying, WVU burning to the group, and Marshall winning every national title game and tickets were free to see the game? Anything less would be unacceptable apparently.
You spouted this drivel a year or two ago and I laid out numbers and stats to refute every lie. I won’t bother to repeat that exercise. Marshall messsge boards never disappoint when it comes to envy, jealousy, and misinformed hatred of any successful school or enterprise.
Every stereotype about Duke that has been posted the last few days, just do a 180 and you will head toward the truth. Sam I would encourage you to take a closer look at Duke, and all the other universities you disparage, maybe even spend a day on campus. If you’re honest and as smart as you think you are it will change your mind.

If only Marshall could be what he wanted it to be- in the SEC, playing against about 3 remaining schools that haven't been accused of cheating, with an auto bid for all 4 schools to play in the national championship, on every TV affiliate, while recognizing Marshall for its indoor athletic facility and an occasional mention of the bleeding Kelly green fan base...... Just knowing that the POS senior at Duke isn't going to get a national championship this season is priceless. Every other coach in the league would have given their left nut to have GA on their team. Allen is a terrific young man who made a couple of emotional and stupid moves. I applaud K for not overreacting and helping him work thru his mistakes. That’s why he is the GOAT and you are.... well you.

Krzyzewski is bully and a man of no ethics. A perfect fit for a place like Duke. All you need to know about him you can learn by him putting up with people like Allen, and him quitting on his team back in 94-95 when he knew it was going to be a bad year so he came down with "exhaustion" and "back trouble". He was also 100% against "one and done", until he was for it.
I figure that the NBA is going to do away with "one and done". That will set off a transition period where there will be at least two years where the "one and done" schools will short manned and not very good. I figure he will finally go away rather than sit though a couple of mediocre seasons. Probably more "back trouble".

One of my son's best friends in Middle School was Christian's nephew Joey Laettner. One evening I went to pick my son up from 6th grade practice and he asked if we could give his new friend Joey a ride home. I said yes but we had to be quick about it because the Carolina - Duke game was tipping off in 30 minutes. On the ride home Joey asked me who I was pulling for I told him I was a Tar Heels fan. I in-turn asked him who he was pulling for, (at this point I still did not know his last name) he said well my Uncle used to play for Duke. I asked who is your Uncle, he said well he played a long time ago so you might not remember him, I informed Joey that I was old, so he said well his name is Christian Laettner. I almost wrecked the car. I did tell Joey that despite being a Carolina fan I was a fan of his Uncle as well.

I grew to like Allen..he will be good in the pro's. Duke got the number 1 2 and 3 top players for next year.
I concur about DUKE. It is a school that MOST would be proud to call home.

Why fever. Clean as a whistle for over 27 years. Please don't say one and done. That's an NBA rule and kentucky fans expect who ever the coach is to bring in the best players possible. Duke and Kansas has shot ahead of Kentucky but good for them. Herd fans hate Kentucky west Virginia and Ohio state and Virginia tech. Well anybody is the eastern time zone. Add Boise state to the list. Not all herd fans just the jealous ones and those brainwashed
Fever go back and read what greenduke says about herd fans. He was raising a family before you were born and forgot more about herd fans than you could ever know. He also puts words together far better than me. I'm sure he has listened to Duke bashing his all time on here. Living in northern wv when I was younger I can say I never heard any wv fans mention Marshall. They all rooted for them.
