for a winter retreat and to see the play, "Hamilton"

Meanwhile, the Coasties are having to have yard sales! They flew down there on a chartered jet. Oh and they took family members and LOBBYISTS with them. The party of the working man and small man.

Despite a partial government shutdown with no end in sight, about 30 Democratic members of Congress traveled to Puerto Rico this weekend -- with their families and lobbyists -- for a winter retreat where they also planned to see a special performance of the hit Broadway show “Hamilton.”

The best part is, they're partying it up with a group of lobbyists and corporate big-wigs. And you guys thought the Republicans were the only ones that sold their souls for money . . .

Speaking of gaming the system, the WSJ had an interesting piece about Elizabeth Warren's fundraising & her hypocrisy for criticizing others for tactics she's benefited from. If Warren runs & wins, the Democrat party will become Warren vs Cortez.

i am sure p.r. is at the top of everyone's travel list - given trumps incompetence they still do not have water.

Then you have this BS. Ten Dems, 2 R's. Politicians are the scum of the earth.

LOS ANGELES — As California’s deadliest wildfire was consuming the town of Paradise in November, some of the state’s top power company officials and a dozen legislators were at an annual retreat at the Fairmont Kea Lani resort on Maui. In the course of four days, they discussed wildfires — and how much responsibility the utilities deserve for the devastation, if any.

Realizing that their potential fire liability is large enough to bankrupt them, the utility companies are spending tens of millions of dollars on lobbying and campaign contributions. Their goal: a California law that would allow them to pass on the cost of wildfires to their customers in the form of higher electricity rates.
