The Alouettes play again this Friday night (8/7) at 7:30. This time on ESPN 2.

Rakeem played well against Calgary including a 51 yard TD pass. He also threw the go ahead pass in the third quarter only to have the receiver fumble the ball on the 2 yard line after running 12-15 yards with it. Same receiver was called for illegal procedure at the end on a 3rd and 3 which in CFL rules is a turnover not a 5 yard penalty do over. That gave the ball back to Calgary to run out the clock. I wonder if that receiver is job hunting this morning.

Rakeem has a favorite receiver named Green but he draws double coverage all the time. Shame Shuler isn't there to be the go guy in the clutches just to keep drives alive.

ALLEZ ALS,

GO HERD!!!

I agree that receiver made big mistakes. On the 3rd and 3 penalty, the Stamps had the chance to decline the penalty which they did and that turned the ball over to them.

Is gator still looking for a roster spot? That dude could year it up in the cfl.

Why don't more of our top prospects look to CFL? I know the dream is the NFL, but playing ball a few months a year and making $80K (CFL average) is still a good gig.

I cannot get used to three downs. It seems almost impossible for a qb to get into any rhythm. The Als run on first down most every play (might be best for a young Cato), meaning that he faces a do or die down almost constantly.

Also, if the Als had a pocket type qb without Cato's elusiveness they'd be in big trouble. It seems like RC is doing his Harry Houdini imitation every play to escape a collapsing pocket. Rakeem is even more valuable than his numbers are showing.

I like the style of play in the CFL, especially the larger field and unlimited pre snap motion. I wish the American game would adopt the unlimited motion idea.

In regards to only having 3 downs, I like that it adds additional strategy to the play calling and playing for field position.

Montreal has plenty of talent at WR but I agree that Gator would be a great fit to the CFL style.

There is only 9 teams I think in the cfl so there isn't a ton of opportunity up there. Cato got lucky, everything worked out for him to get to play.

He's got to start wining and throwing less INT's or they may look at other options. The kid is playing well but the wins aren't coming. Their D is very suspect but his INT's are costing them.

Cato was under heavy pressure all night. I noticed that on defense Montrasl normally rushed 3. Seemed like Ottawa was rushing 5 consistently.

No qb is going to win games laying on their back. Montreal's o-line is terrible. Couple that worth the fact that they have one reliable receiver, I'd say they are thrilled with his performance thus far.

They should be thrilled but you know as well as I do, the QB is often the face of the franchise. If they are winning all is good. If they are losing, fingers start pointing.

Signed a new three year contract is what i read on their board. Anybody else see that. They said more than once they love Cato.
