the workd wide leader has made the decision to remove an ASIAN announcer named Robert lee from its uva football coverage vs William and Mary. Does espn think that people are so damn stupid that they can't differentiate between an old white confederate general that's been dead for almost 140 years and an Asian guy?!?! This crap has gotten out of control

i don't watch espn other than live college football events during college football season, but i think espn was just trying to do a new employee a solid and it backfired in their face.

if this guy called the uva game he would've been the butt of a million internet jokes and memes, for the rest of his career that would've been largely what he would be remembered as, the robert lee meme guy. espn tried to do him a favor, switched him quietly to the pitt game that weekend, someone leaked it to mr hypocrite clay travis and it blew up in espn's face.

I don't think anyone would have thought a thing about an Asian American named Robert lee calling the game.

Except that's not at all what espn said their reasoning was. And oh know he's going to be an internet meme THE HORROR. espn was trying to play social justice warrior and get out in front of any perceived racial threats. They wanted to be woke and got caught. People watching the uva w&m game wouldn't care. The network made themselves the story and now they had become an even bigger joke to the average sports fan

Fvck ESPN. They've shown their true colors time and time again.

Bunch of publicity whores for the liberal establishment.

Sistersville, I heard you got yourself a really nice tan down on the EC. Are you darker than Moses Malone?

The big question that no one is addressing is why is the Virginia and William and mary game on national television anyway. Really. Who give a damn.

Yeah, because some people really are that stupid.

Which place did you stay? I always stay at Aqua, which is close to Pier Park. 17th Floor. I like being high.

Also, when I was there last month, I always get up around 5:30, and go downstairs to get the paper out of the machine. One morning, I went down, picked up the paper, and got back on the elevator to make the trip up to 17, and unloaded a really nasty beer fart about a third of the way up, and low and behold, elevator stopped on the 11th floor, and the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen hopped on, and it stunk horrible in there. Thankfully, never ran into her again.

I like how ESPN makes it sound like both parties came to a mutual agreement after reasoned debate.

Literally no human would have put two-and-two together on this and even if they did it would get overshadowed by anything that happened in a game that mattered. NO ONE would have remembered this past Sunday morning.

Maybe he will make a comment about how the North is more welcoming than the South.

What's hilarious to me is even my most liberal friends are embarrassed by this because they realize this wasn't done to cut off any criticism from those on the right or even in the middle. It was purely a move, out of fear, to appear pc to the left.

Espn sentd an internal memo
Basically saying offending people never crossed their mind it was to keep from becoming a meme and it was basically Roberts idea because he'd be closer to home doing the Pitt Youngstown st game.

That he was a lower level employee and it was highly suggested.

I want to know when Bob aka Robert Ley is taken off of his roles at ESPN. I don't want to mistake him for the Confederate General when I'm watching Outside the Lines.
