I know that we have talked about this in the past, and I know this is not a new issue... But our fans suck. Last season I wasn't able to attend a game, so this season is my first time back for a while. Its sad.
First of all we get 24k fans. Second, those that came sat the entire game and barely cheered. And before you say "there was nothing to cheer about" I am talking about the point when we were up 21-7. There were times on third down, when our fans just sat there not cheering. My group was the only ones in our section to stand up at all or make noise... or get off their phones.
I remember going to OSU a few years ago when Marshall played there. It was Marshall, (to them even lower than Akron is to us) and still sold out, people stood the entire game, and it was loud. People were engaged in the game and it was a great atmosphere. I know we aren't OSU but come on, can we have an atmosphere that is at least somewhat engaged? The culture of our area spills over to the games and that isn't a good thing.
