First Offensive Play

I'm going with a play action fake to Knox, with the QB throwing a deep pass down the right sideline to a wide open receiver, but unfortunately it will be overthrown.

PS - I'm not betting NOTHING

Rest easy the other qb is gone
I know, but due to COVID, I had a bunch of free time over the last few months, and went through thousands of archived football games, and the data proved that each time a QB threw a long pass on the opening play, 84% of the time, the ball was overthrown. Fauci said it was the adrenaline.

Byron Leftwich at Florida in 2001 agrees.

The Qb throws a long pass down the middle of the field only to have it picked off by a late arriving paratrooper who floats into the endzone for an EKU touchdown. To add insult to injury the officials call for replay to see if the paratrooper was down by contact at the one yard. The replay shows that not only did he have one football but also another one that was the official game ball. EKU gets credit for two touchdowns. After one play Marshall is down 14-0.😁

PA, look deep, check down to Knox in flat for 5-ish yards. Won’t be a big play but you’ll see a check down better than we’ve seen in a number of years.

I’m reality, I want it to look like a pass play. Not a broken play with the QB scrambling from non-existent pressure and it becoming a fire drill for the receivers.

I'm not sure, but perhaps we should go ahead and get a "Fire Doc" thread started?

I'm not sure, either, but I believe that a thread on this subject has not ended or closed. I believe the thread was from 2019, or was it 2018, 2017, 16 . . .?
