I got an early copy and just finished it, it’s a great read. My uncle is David Miller, who did the forward and the research for it. Back in November I went to my parents for Thanksgiving and a stranger I’ve never met before was there when I got home. It was the subject of the book Charley Hager aka “Little Joe College.” He was extremely cordial but somewhat reserved. At the time I had no idea who he was or why he was there but after the day went on he and my uncle started to open a bit more about his story. I highly suggest it if you enjoy a true story about the mafia.

From reading an Amazon review, it appears he got his life back in order in West Virginia. Knowing nothing of this story when I read your post, I was kind of wondering why you’d be posting about your parents’ ties to a Chicago Mob member. Sounds like this guy had an interesting life. What part of WV was/is he from?

My parents aren’t but my uncle is an editor and author and he’s who brought him to my parents home. They spent several weeks together so he could do the research for the book.
