I know this story is worthless without pics.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A former Shippensburg University student filed a federal lawsuit against the school, claiming the administration did nothing to assist her when she told them she was being sexually harassed by her female supervisor, an assistant dean who continually pressured the student to join her in group sex.

The student says her repeated refusal to engage in the sexual activity, led to her termination from her graduate studies program, according the lawsuit.

The student claims in January of 2019 the assistant dean approached her asking if she would engage in a ménage à trois with her and a man. The student denied the request and soon after took her concerns to the Dean of OPCDE. The lawsuit states that "before she could cite any details, the dean told her that she did not want to hear about it."

Following no action, the student says the sexual advances continued between two and four times a week, including showing her photographs and text messages of a sexual nature.

Around April 2019, the student and her supervisor went on a business trip to Philadelphia, where the student was shown more nude photos of her engaging in activities with various men. The lawsuit states when the student replied she did not want to see the photos, she was met with extreme disappointment and warned she could be fired from her roll as Director of Testing, if she did not respect and obey her boss, the assistant dean.

The lawsuit claims the student again approached the dean to discuss the incidents during and after the trip, only for the dean to tell her she did not want to hear it because the woman in question was her friend.

In early to mid-August 2019, the student again joined her supervisor on a work-related conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. The assistant dean asked for a room key to her room “in case I want to visit in the middle of the night,” according to the lawsuit. After firmly telling her no, the woman confronted the student in front of other attendees at the conference by yelling and cursing, that she would not have a job when she returned to campus.

When the student returned to the office on August 14, she found that the assistant dean told everyone that she was no longer employed with the University. Again, the student went to the dean to tell her of the events that happened on the trip, but the dean refused to hear her story, according the lawsuit.

Several days later the student was called into a meeting with the Defendant’s Vice President of Human Resources and the Dean to discuss accusations that she had engaged in “unprofessional behavior” during the New Orleans trip. She explained details of the sexual harassment and stated that her supervisor was lying to protect herself. When the VPHR asked why she did not complain prior to then, she looked at the Dean and said that she had tried and the dean did not deny it, according to the lawsuit.

On or about August 22, the student made a sexual harassment complaint to the schools Title IX Coordinator and provided proof of harassment. The assistant dean was placed on leave by the university and resigned from her position in lieu of termination within several weeks after the evidence was presented.

After learning of the evidence to support the claims, VPHR said that he would reconsider bringing the student back as a university employee, but has yet to make those arrangements.

Neither the student, nor the assistant dean, whom the lawsuit said worked in the Office of Professional, Continuing, and Distance Education, are identified in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit claims the university displayed "blatant disregard for her civil rights" and says the student is seeking unspecified financial compensation.

Statement from Shippensburg University Media Relations Manager, Megan Silverstrim:

"The University was just made aware of this filing and our legal counsel is reviewing it. However, as is our practice, we will not comment on pending litigation."
