The timing of it won’t help. Walz is a weird pick thoughThat’s a dud pick but good for us, I guess.
Why do you all keep making fools of yourselves this way?Flip:
"Walz has a strong record of supporting LGBTQ+ rights, according to the Human Rights Campaign. In July 2021, he signed an executive order banning the practice of so-called “conversion therapy” for minors, making Minnesota one of the first states to do so through executive action."
Minnesota governor Tim Walz selected as Kamala Harris’s running mate; here’s his LGBTQ+ record
The pair will now embark on a five-day tour of battleground states.www.advocate.com
Flop:
Executive Order 23-03 protects the rights of Minnesota's LGBTQ community to seek and receive gender affirming health care in Minnesota.
"As states across the country move to ban access to gender-affirming care, we want LGBTQ Minnesotans to know they will continue to be safe, protected, and welcome in Minnesota,” said Governor Walz. “In Minnesota, you will not be punished for seeking or providing medical care. This Executive Order delivers the urgent action that our LGBTQ Minnesotans deserve.”

Shapiro was thought to be the pick. I get the feeling the “leak” was done to test the waters & the response wasn’t great. Especially with the recent escalations in the ME.For whatever it’s worth, in the progressive circles I run in online they like the Walz pick. Of the short list of 6 or 7 names from a week ago it was him and Beshear at the top and Shapiro and Buttgeig at the bottom.
I think he’s a good pick. No baggage like Shapiro has with the sexual harassment thing. VP picks don’t tend to positively impact campaigns so this one at least won’t hurt in any way.
It wouldn’t surprise me if they flew Shapiro as a trial balloon. And I agree on Egg. Like I said earlier the best you can hope for in a VP candidate is for them to do no harm. Buttgeig is gay which shouldn’t matter but would, and he’s gotten some bad press (some fair; some unfair) for the job he’s done as transportation secretary. Shapiro has the old Israel stuff, the new Israel stuff, and the harassment cover up. Walz doesn’t really have baggage.Shapiro was thought to be the pick. Ironically, the lib friends I talk to still think Pete is their guy. I don’t quite get it. He hasn’t exactly excelled in his current appointment & he has zero personality. I know I’ve mentioned his documentary on Amazon before, but he’s the male embodiment of Ann from Arrested Development. I think he’ll do well if he & Vance debate but this just seems like a weird pick

John, what do you think conversion therapy is?
Please, answer the question, what do you think conversation therapy is?'21 One he signs: "executive order banning the practice of so-called “conversion therapy” for minors," A good thing
In 2023 - According to the Executive Action: "
- To the maximum extent possible, the state will refuse requests to extradite individuals accused of committing acts related to, securing of, or receipt of gender affirming health care services."
So if an Individual comes to Minn looking for Gender Affirming care, they will not be extradited to their home state (by court order) just for wanting Gender Affirming care. Well, an adult won't have a court order for extradition, a minor might after their parents get one.
Who is the FOOL now?
I actually followed the link and read the law, he signed.
CommieI wonder if he still has that hotline up where you can call and report people for playing basketball or going to church during covid?
what i tell my wife i'm getting when hanging out with my drinking buddies.what do you think conversation therapy is?
This is the kind of guy the left usually shits on.Politics aside, it's nice to see a rather normal (and rural!) American elevated.
NCO in the Guard, joined to pay for school...a rather average, normal public college, not the Ivy League.
High school teacher and football coach.
Good, normal accomplishments on a resume for office.
I wish more people with that kind of background could be in politics.
