My daughter plays soccer with a girl who’s stepdad played with Tony at GSU, still talks to him on occasion, he said Tony was absolutely ecstatic over being selected as the HC at Marshall, and he couldn’t wait to move back home. It’s nice to know we hired someone who most likely won’t be looking for interviews, 3 games in.

The difference with Huff and coaches like Gibson and our former women’s basketball coach is he never did the political speech of it’s my dream job, I love Marshall etc. and honestly some of the things I have heard about Huff from people I know and trust both on this board and off it sounds like he was also a dck which added to the dislike. Plus the things he’s done since he left has soured my opinion of him greatly. I went from being on the he got screwed train to I hope he fails miserably at Southern’s Miss.

Enjoy Coach Gibson while we have him. But don’t believe for a second if a better offer comes along he won’t take it. Doesn’t make him a bad guy it’s just the way of the world now in college athletics.

I think Huff did a little more than to be "OK", we won the SBC conference championship. Like caliherd posted the day of loyalty is disappearing. A lot of the players are not going to be getting a NFL paycheck when they leave Marshall. I can see why a player would enter the portal to make some money. Some may not even be interested in receiving a degree.

I hear you, I am losing most of my interest in college sports. I still follow Marshall, I had five fraternity brothers on the plane crash. I just don't have the passion I had before NIL and the portal.
