There is a lot of money in Gilbert. It’s actually one of our better performing branches, believe it or not. The problem is it’s in the middle of nowhere and has no infrastructure, and is hidden in the hills by a river.

If you think Gilbert is a shit-hole than you need to visit Matewan, or Ieager, or basically any McDowell county town along 52.

There were numerous mine operators from there who were able to keep some of the coal money locally. Biggest of which of course was Buck Harless.

There is some tourism action going on with the Hatfield McCoy trails.

There’s definitely some hollers which look like something out of feed the children like anywhere else in southern WV.

But as far as the actual town itself, you can find much more depressing places down there.
