One of the most enjoyable and well-played final rounds of major championship golf I've witnessed, esp. with the two leaders going head-to-head in the final group. Was reminiscent of Woods/Mediate at Torrey Pines in 2008.

Was pulling for Mickelson to get that sixth major; have to admire how incredibly well Stenson played, esp. with the flat-stick.

PGA Champ. should be great in just a few short weeks.

I'm in Hilton Head...but I watched the Sunday's round in a sports bar near where I'm staying. It was a two man race. When Michelson started birdie-par-eagle I thought it might be his day. But Stenson was rock solid. He deserved the win. I've never been a big Michelson fan but I rooted for him because...well...USA. But I don't think he blew it as much as Stenson was just that good on that day.

The bar got fairly boisterous cheering for Michelson and when Stenson hit in the rough right on 16 or 17(can't remember which hole) I high fived my brother in law. The guy at the table beside me was doing a lone clap for Stenson when he chipped out for a short birdie putt. I said,"You can't be rooting for the European." He was from England. So he was allowed...I guess.

LOL.

I was not a big fan of Lefty for about his first few years on tour. Just didn't seem like he could figure out how to play the big events, esp. once Woods hit the tour full-time in 1997. I started becoming a fan with his performance and attitude at Pinehurst in 1999. I wasn't expecting him to take another six years to win a major - but . . .

If there is anyone suggesting that Mickelson somehow lost the jug yesterday, that person(s) is/are nuts. Stenson was unstoppable. Radar locked.

Hope we get a repeat at the PGA - though I would like to see Lefty (or Woods if he is back) in the hunt.
