There is a place in Green Bank called Ram's Horn that is pretty good for this stuff in the non-skiing season when Snowshoe isn't fouling up the sky with light pollution.
I like that house, but it would be a bitch come winter time.
Decent price on this one, but not sure about whether the neighbors would be assholes or not.Yeah, you better REALLY love winter and not leaving the mountain.
As a consolation prize, how about owning the headwaters of the South Branch of the Potomac? @wvkeeper(HN) , you are as a big a nerd as me, this would be awesome to lay claim to:

Yes Please.
Go to the beach at night. Or very early AM. Lay down and look up. That picture is from South Carolina.Absolutely stunning. I really need to make a point to go to areas with little light pollution just to look at the sky. Most people go a lifetime without looking up.
I see we share a hobby lol.
Nice view on that first one.
Maybe one day I'll move back to the mountains.
Very beautiful part of the world there.I'm 100% retiring somewhere in that corner of WV where Tucker, Randolph, Pocahontas, Pendleton, and Grant counties are.
11.4 miles from my house. entrance to smoke hole road 3.8 miles. was by this one this past weekend, have a buddy who owns a cabin about 3 or 4 miles from this about 3/4's a mile off smoke hole road. a weekend full of fishing, morel hunting, and drinking. #relaxedDecent price on this one, but not sure about whether the neighbors would be assholes or not.

franklin is a great town. people extremely friendly. not much to do, but just across the mountain from harrisonburg, probably 45 minute drive.I'm 100% retiring somewhere in that corner of WV where Tucker, Randolph, Pocahontas, Pendleton, and Grant counties are.
Good place to visit, maybe own a small vacation property, but them damn hippies up there are a strange bunch. Drank 3 or 4 beers one night up at the Purple Fiddler, and was thinking I was in dire need of a hit of acid just to fit in with the crowd.davis/thomas/canaan area is pretty darn spectacular
hell, chances are we're related. my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd great grandfathers were total cock-whores in that area back in the 1800's and early 1900's.I graduated high school from Pocahontas County HS and my Great-Grandpa's family was from Franklin. I love that area.
You familiar with a nice log cabin up Bushwhacker Lane in Marlinton? Backs up to the national forest. Well built log cabin, but I imagine the damn bugs would eat you alive. I've been following it for almost a year now, and it still hasn't sold.I graduated high school from Pocahontas County HS and my Great-Grandpa's family was from Franklin. I love that area.
