How can he be a tax leech when he had a contract with the govt? He provided his work(service) for that contract. in return, according to the contract/agreement, he was paid and according to the contract he was not only paid money, but the benefits set forth in return for his work(serivce). Sounds like a written and legal two way street to me.
No, not really. You get paid for doing work. In return for work you get paid. The defense of the country is also a constitutional mandate and common damn sense.
You can't explain why you think it is. I told you why it is not. THe govt has a contract with people when they enlist. The govt pays them to work. They work to get paid.
The military is a socialist welfare program. My taxes pay for the wages, healthcare, housing, food, clothing, tuition, and retirement pensions of those in the services. And then you make an about face, show your hypocrisy, and want to deny that to the very citizens that paid for those benefits.
So, you think the govt should supply every citizen wages, healthcare, housing, food, clothing, tuition, and retirement?
That is called communism. Is that what you are asking for? The govt provide every one of those items to every citizen.

We pay our military members(now an all voluntary force) for their service. We pay them to work, essentially. As I stated, the defense of the country is mandated by the Constitution(as well as common sense). We have to get them to do it someway. SO, we pay and offer benefits in return for serving or working in the military.
Are you asking the govt to provide all those things to every citizen? Now, tell me where that has worked out succesfully?
