Good Read on NCAA

Coaches and Athletic directors making way too much money. But its all about money. Then again Trump didn't have enough money to overcome the dislike most had for him and he can't buy a team. Other owners don't like him. Hey lets get Extragreen back on here. He is a very good guy.

You weren’t joking about it being long. The sad thing is that this is probably just scratching the surface of what actually goes on at all levels of college sports. I wanted to believe that Tunsil was the victim in all of this with his ex father in law being the biggest pos, but why in the world would he post the gas mask bong photos on social media? I just can’t understand the need for cheap recognition by kids on social media today. It cost him millions so at least he paid for it. Everyone else, not so much.

But the guy who wrote this is really good. I like this little gem...

“In less literary terms: If you’re an Ole Miss fan, you’re probably an asshole lawyer in seersucker. If you’re a Mississippi State fan, you’re probably an asshole redneck in camouflage.”

But I think his best quote in the story is this...

“Accusations of cheating are as much a function of Southern culture as the college football itself. It’s born out of the twin pillars of passion for the game and gross economic inequity. Poor black men play football. Rich white men want them to play for their teams.”

.”

He didn’t post that stuff. The article explains that minutes before the draft started, those videos/pictures were posted on Tunsil’s Twitter. The likely culprit who posted them was his former business manager.

After Tunsil signed with an agent, the business manager realized that he was being pushed out. Previously, the business manager had helped Tunsil transfer his pics, contacts, etc. from one device to another. In doing so, the business manager was able to get Tunsil’s passwords.

After being pushed out, the business manager sat on that incriminating info until the perfect time for payback - ten minutes before the draft started, so Tunsil wouldn’t have time to concoct a story and so that teams wanting to draft him wouldn’t have time to question him about it, investigate it, and be comfortable enough to still draft him.

Ah...got it. Then Tunsil is really the victim of so many people on this one. This makes the ranting editorial by the MU professor against Jon Elmore all the more stupid.

I emailed that professor to let him know that he’s a moron. Unfortunately, he didn’t respond.

This guy has a history and and Landon has called him out in the past. He was responsible for Yous Mbao having to miss a home basketball game. It conflicted with one of his classes and he told Mbao that he would lower his grade twi letters if he missed.

I stole this from Random from the pay board...

Landon article from 2013 about Brozik and Yous Mbao - http://www.herald-dispatch.com/spor...cle_c53f920c-8c90-5c19-a686-2202b91d1f26.html

What did Brozik write about Elmore?

Returning player sends bad message

I note that a "star" basketball player is returning to Marshall next season. After he has decided to withdraw from the draft. For the third time.

And we will take him back; more is the pity. He has walked out before in search of a better looking date, but when he does not get a ring, he comes running home.

This is the wrong message to send the teams. These young folks may certainly choose to pursue their lives elsewhere, but they should not expect to find an open door back at Marshall.

Once you decide to leave, do not let the door hit you in the butt.

We are Marshall. We are a family. When you graduate out, you are still a family member. If you do not respect the family and decide to run toward a possibly brighter star, good luck. Just do not expect to be welcomed back home once you desert your family. There are others to take your place who will appreciate the opportunity.

If you want continuity in the teams and a consistent group identity, there should be some incentive for staying and a rude awakening for leaving. Just like real life.

What an asshole. And this isn't even logical; a basketball player does not exit the program when taking this route to declare and then exit the draft. Also, is he advocating that any student that weighs working vs college be barred from returning to school? If we are all one family, I'd think this could apply to any student.

Back to OP....

This is gold:

Why a man calls an escort service is one thing. Why he does so on a university-issued phone subject to public records requests is another. Hubris? Sloppiness? Self-sabotage after years of ceaseless scrutiny by the NCAA? Why didn’t the man buy another cell phone to make those kind of calls?

“Because he is the cheapest motherfvcker I’ve ever met,” an Ole Miss booster told me the night of Freeze’s resignation.
