Grant Wells ranked #4

Just noticed Grant has 2,000 yards so far this year ranking him #4 in the nation. These are big numbers and tells me he has a big upside. Once he works through some of his mistakes he has the potential to be one of the better QB's to ever play here.
Was watching App @ Cajun fball game. The App QB, Brice, leads the nation…..in interceptions thrown since 2020. 19! I bet GW is in the top 5 there, as well!!

If only YPG was what we judged QB performance on this would be a great stat. But it’s meaningless when your INT rate is higher than your TD rate

Apparently you missed the memo marine all of his ints were from wide receiver mistakes. Chucking balls into triple coverage had nothing to do with it.
I like Wells and I think he has tremendous upside and I think he is by far the best QB we have but this blame everybody but him for interceptions doesn’t help develop the mental part of his game which right now where he struggles at times.

I don't disagree with that Marine, I even said that in the post. However, it doesn't take away from the fact he is putting up some great numbers. Like I said, if he can improve some( watch throwing into double coverage, checking down and not locking onto one guy) and get some help from his receivers we could have a very special guy under center.

He’s putting up one great number, not number(s).

I’ve been aggravated enough to call for Zban just to change it up when the O wasn’t doing anything or when Wells was in a slump myself.

Grant has the 2nd half to really boost his confidence, hope he gets two more TD’s in the air

Both sides of the Wells debate are correct. Grant is a very talented QB, he has the ability to make all the throws and he is dangerous with his legs. On the flip side he can be overconfident in that ability and attempt throws he is sure he can make even when he can’t.

I think of Chad as our Peyton Manning - heady player, great leader, not the best physical tools.

Leftwich was our Tom Brady - smart, fierce competitor, leader with arm talent.

Wells is our Brett Favre. You just have to take the awful with the great. Brett could never change to reduce his mistakes, not sure Grant will either. Neither will win as much as they should have, but it’s always an exciting ride.
