Briefly on WSAZ tonight it was said the Green and White would be played outside the stadium as it will be getting new turf at the the time. Anybody know or hear anything about this?
Ed Welch hated our guts.IIRC, in the past MU has held “additional practices” with no charge to get in at the Greenbrier and at Oakes Field in South Charleston in fairly recent times. Apparently there is a NCAA rule that says you can only have one “color vs color” game where you charge to get in.
Laidley Field is probably out. UC is 100% anti public education and 100% anti-Marshall specifically.
UC does not own Laidley Field. It is owned by the Kanawha County Board of Education. They pay for naming rights and for use of the stadium. They also do not control the schedule for events other than their practices. Laidley has a stadium manager that is employed by Kanawha County Schools.Laidley Field is probably out. I would guess we had to do it when they had openings. The company likely schedules well in advance to line up workers, ship the turf, machinery and such. Just a thought. Why would you have the turf replacement scheduled to conflict with spring practice/GW game?
UC does have tents set up on occasion for special events, Homecoming etc. I'm sure it could be arranged. Even though it is School property, they do sell beer for the UC games. Other than the State lot there is not much parking available.Laidley field is owned by Kanawha County schools, not UC. As it’s a KCS property, I’m sure their would be no tailgating on their lot. The larger parking ,lot beside is owned by the state.
I think they could possibly move in some temporary seating. Also, I’d think that the coaches wouldn’t mind having multiple fields at their disposal. Locker rooms could be an issue though.Shawnee is a good idea. The county owns it. Large lot that probably could be used to tailgate. Not a lot of stands but plenty of room.
Dress and tape in huntington and bus upI think they could possibly move in some temporary seating. Also, I’d think that the coaches wouldn’t mind having multiple fields at their disposal. Locker rooms could be an issue though.
Kind of an olive/sage green, with white lines at five-yard intervals. Large white numbers will indicate the yard line at ten yard intervals and will feature a large white "G" on the goal line. White hash marks will mark one yard intervals between the yard lines.Any idea as to what the turf is going to look like?

We already had gray turf.I heard it was gonna be gray turf with kelly green outline, hash and yardage markers. With kelly green endzones and "The Herd" in black with white outlines.
Not sure if sarcasm or not, since I'm subjected to reading Pullman for 10 hours per day, but what you laid out what look almost identical to Eastern Michigan's field. That was hard on the eyes. Not as hard as watching Boise, but hard nonetheless. Think it's just your mind not used to seeing something in a color you're not used to. Mind thinks green, eyes see gray, and my ding dong needs to pee.I heard it was gonna be gray turf with kelly green outline, hash and yardage markers. It was mostly sarcasm. Yeah EMU's field is very hard on the eyes. Not good. But I wouldn't mind a field that's a little different - whatever form that may take. Not sure if sarcasm or not, since I'm subjected to reading Pullman for 10 hours per day, but what you laid out what look almost identical to Eastern Michigan's field.
