If it gets to double digits today, I’m going out for lunch. I’ve just about exhausted every eatable thing in the house.

the local shop n rob has a "5 for $25" ongoing special where they put all their date expiring meat in one section and you can choose five packs for $25. i hit it every once in a while when i stop in to pick something else up.

the other day, i told my wife i was going to go stock up on some chicken/pork loin/sausage, etc. she says, sure, go ahead and add to the abundance of 5 for $25 specials you already have in the freezer. i had forgotten about all of that, so after checking, the trip to the grocery store was negated, other than her stopping to pick up an 18 pack of eggs for $10.

i'm still working on the freezer full of 5 for $25 meats, and will be for the next couple weeks.

My grocery shopping is bizarre. I like boneless barbecue wings from the deli, frozen blueberries, various cheeses, black rye bread, bottled water, apples slices, and decaf coffee. Sometimes I add yogurt and a protein drink.

What do you like for cheeses?

A favorite in our house is a little slice of a baguette with a sliver of comte cheese on top and then a dollop of jam or preserves on that. You can usually find comte at Kroger.

Or try a baguette with comte and an apple slice. I bet it's good.

I wish my area had a really good deli or a cheese shop. I have always liked cheeses and would like to try some that just aren’t the “stock” varieties. Here I’m pretty much stuck with Munster. Havarti, and Gouda.
