Greenbrier resort questions

I have a few questions about resort dress code in particular, for anyone that has been.

It says before 7PM, polos and slacks are allowed and then after it men have to be wearing jackets and women must wear dresses.

Is this a big deal as soon as it hits 7 to have these clothes or is there a grace period? We are going to explore after the scrimmage and eat and maybe gamble a little and I'm not bringing a blazer.

Thanks in advance.

I have sent many days and nights at the Greenbrier and have strolld around in golf shorts and t shirts. The only placeI know of a dress code is the main dinning room and after 7 you must have a jacket and tie fo the casino. During the day you can wear what is comfortable. Spent the day watching the Saints this past summer and took the kids to the resort afterwards. Walked all through the shops and ate at Drapers wearing t shirts and shorts.

With the casino though, lets say we come in around 6 with polo and khakis... it hits 7, do they send you out right then or what?

Also, thanks for the response!

Can't say for sure as I have not been there when it switched but I would assume they would discreetly ask you to change.

"Resort casual" is acceptable throughout the property all day. That means a shirt with a collar and long pants, no denim. Except jacket and tie are required in the main dining room (where the average age is about 92). Jacket (no tie) is strongly recommended for Jerry West's. Jacket is required in the casino after 7 PM. And you have to prove you have been a "customer" of the resort to get into the casino in the first place (your ticket stub from practice will be OK). There is no rule that requires dresses for women. Women should dress appropriately considering the rules for men.

If Snead's is open (it closes for the winter) it is better than West's, IMHO. West's is over-rated.

Suck it up and bring a blazer.

You'll feel better not having to buy one there ($$$)
I'm going up to this partially as a fishing trip though, but I probably will do this.

I wonder if Tom Herrion has any green ones I can borrow??

Don't they provide Blazers if you don't have one
My recollection (and its been a few years since I've been) is that you can either rent or buy one. They aren't free.

For the Love of John Marshall...every man should own a BLUE Blazer. Marshall Men Have Class....at least the ones I hang with!

Green DOOK....you will be happy to know I purchased a DUKE hat at The Final Four in Indianapolis. Only one ACC team left to carry the Banner since the Tar Heels were "in time out."

Appreciate it, if I knew you were there could have bought you a brew before or after the games.

We tailgated Saturday near the CBS Stage & spent a lot of time in the gated Catholic Church near there. This was good since it permitted the grand children to run wild while we enjoyed adult company & adult beverages. (Our daughter resides near Indianapolis). I thought the prices on the streets were reasonable & the food was good. Took a few pictures with fans from the four schools & the Duke fans appreciated my Tar Heel hat! "Keeping it in the ACC family"......just saying.

Indianapolis certainly enjoyed ONE SHINING MOMENT & they are a GREAT HOST.

I drove up to Notre Dame Monday. Enjoyed my time on campus viewing all the HISTORY. VERY DISAPPOINTED in the city of South Bend.....Old, Dirty, Run Down........I did not expect this. Makes one appreciate the beauty of Huntington (since her clean up under her current Mayor).

Bring on The HERD
