Had to put the dog down yesterday:

17 years I had him. Got him as a freshman at Marshall in Feb 1999 from the Huntington Animal Shelter. Took him to Ritter Park about three times a day. He had 9 homes, lived in three states, watched my kids turn 6 years old. He was ready, gave me a final tail wag just before he passed. Best dog a man could ask for

Sorry to hear that, Marine. Reminds me of the dog I got when I was 16 and we had to put him down years later.

Sorry to hear that. One of the hardest things I have done is put down our last dog. Our current dog is 13, so headed that way again, but hopefully not for a few more years.

Thanks all. I have a border collie thats 12, I'm not sure if I should just keep him or get another one for him to have company. Thoughts?
