Physiological? Most young kids don’t understand how babies are created, moron. Do you remember sucking on your mom’s tits? Exactly.

This child has a far greater chance of being “normal” and having success than you ever had.

I’m honestly not sure what you’re asking here. I’m not being snarky - rephrase so I can answer or understand.

Whether there is a God or not I think even atheist thought leaders like Sam Harris would agree with my take on gender here.

I just didn’t like the word “assigned.” It seemed like a human was assigning it rather than a random mixture of sperm/egg (Darwin, etc) or a God. It just made it sound like a medical mix up or something.

Again, I’m fine with him switching, but that’s up to him.

I might be overly sensitive to this as I’ve been listening to a lot of Eric Weinstein, Joe Rogan, Sam Harris, Jordan Peterson recently (lots of discussions about biological gender differences).

I’m asking, did your god not ultimately assign a sex to that person? The sex of a baby isn’t something controlled by free-choice. It’s in your god’s hands what sex he wants to assign to that baby, so “assign” seems extreme accurate . . . at least to a theist it should.

I guess if I was the author I would have said “he was born a female” (but identifies now as male) and not said “assigned a female gender “...

I’m not sure. I *think* so but I’m a doubt filled believer. Does God intervene in all matters or just some? Is there a God?

I struggle with God and suffering in this world .

As an aside there is a fantastic interview with Sam Harris and one of the Worlds experts in early Christian Church ( Bart Erhman).

Erhman seems to believe Jesus existed but can’t reconcile human suffering with a just God.

Yeah, God does assign the gender. It's then up to someone with two eyes and a functioning brain (usually a doctor or nurse) to confirm that. It's only liberals like you who take issue with it.

In that case, start an online petition to gain support making circumcision, ear piercings, nose piercings, nipple piercings, belly button piercings, and tattoos illegal. All of those can easily be argued to be body mutilation.

There's a major difference between mutilation (complete removal/destruction of body parts) and piercings and tattoos.
