Got tickets and reservations and planning on driving down Thursday to spend time with some friends in Hattiesburg. Anyone else going to make the trip from Huntington? Or for that case from anywhere? Strange how just three years ago we were on top of the CUSA heap and USM was on the bottom. Now we see a huge reversal. Southern Miss fired there coach (and staff) got a new guy and they are back to winning. Doc you need to pay attention to what is happening before your very eyes. You have got to get some new coordinators or lose your own job. JMO

Sad to report...I threw in the towel & "cut my travel costs." Planned my trip to Hattiesburg last May during CUSA Baseball tournament. Called the hotel Monday am (Oct. 24, 2016) to cancel my room. Stuck with two tickets ($35 each) in the HERD Section...Section P....row 1...seats 20,21....located it looks like around the 20-yard line. Also, stuck with two seats to HERD hosting MTSU & WKU.

When does HOOPS Start? Looks like Marshall may return to being a basketball school....

Hey Doc..."You need to get some thinks fixed......"

zilla, where are your seats in the Joan? I might be able to help you get rid of them. Sorry to hear you're not coming in; would hope you'd still change your mind. To me, its fine to be upset, but if the team Ever needed support, it will be for those two games.

Also, had almost those exact seats in the Rock at USM two years ago, it was great fun. I actually think Herd fans are going to be very surprised at what happens in Hattiesburg this coming Saturday. I've watched several of their games, and we're every bit as talented as they are; across the board. Their defense isn't real good, nor is ours. Their quarterback is good...at times, just like ours. Their offensive line is succeptable to taking time off, as is ours. Could be a very interesting game down south on Saturday PM.

I hope you are correct whf2....So Miss lost to a very good Troy team and at LSU. I question the heart of this Herd squad. They never seemed to want to be there for Charlotte. Why are so many players from last year not on campus and the ones that remain are playing so poorly?

My two seats for MTSU & WKU are in the End Zone. By the time those games roll around...you get in & sit anywhere. Pvt message me and I will send them to you for FREE. Do you want my two So Miss tickets?

I too have canceled my plans to head south. Hattiesburg is my favorite CUSA city. I have been there for every football game MU has played there and also 1 basketball game. I will miss my Friday night dinner at Crescent City Grill and Saturday at Letha's Bar B-Q. Great tailgating on the front lawn of the administration building.

I was seriously considering going to Hattiesburg and ODU but the last three games have sucked the life out of me.

Doc said this week during his press conference...."We have to coach better; the players have to want to be coached."

It appears he is aware of the problems facing this year's team. I have a difficult time understanding how the team can get so bad in one year. (1) Why have guys been expelled from the team? (2) Why are last year's starters riding the pine? (3) We are we so thin that freshman are manning many positions on both sides of the ball? (4) Why are our receivers dropping so many balls? (5) Is Litton gun shy from his concussion received during the Akron game?

Why is this squad just going through the motions and appearing to want their season to end? Why have they quit----Marshall football in the past has always seen players executing until the final play. Is there unrest in the locker room?

In spite of The HERD's dismal play to date-----WIN out and they play on the road for the CUSA Football Championship. It will be difficult with remaining games at So Miss, ODU & FIU. Home tilts loom in Huntington in November against MTSU & WKU.

Will sunshine rise on The HERD...or Storms the rest of 2016?

Searching for answers out of Huntington......

Well if Doc says the "players have to want to be coached" then he has some very serious problems. If his players are "uncoachable" then Doc better look in the mirror and seriously consider letting some assistants go - NOW!

Naw, I made my big road trip to Pitt this year.

Tim...I just spoke with my Eagle buddy...ALTON BANKSTON. He is disappointed I am not coming but he understands the expense of traveling to watch a team that has given up. I am mailing my 2 tickets ($35 each) to him to sell or give to kids who can not afford a ticket.

He is having a large tailgate party and stated he will have FREE food & BEER for Herd fans. He will set up near the walkway near the entrance to the MU sections...N-O-P. Spread the word for Herd folks to drop by. He is a great guy.....I met him in Huntington a few years ago near Memorial Fountain & was his guest this Spring for the CUSA Baseball Tournament.

Go HERD...
