Kim Kardashian is back at the White House this morning meeting with Kushner and other White House officials regarding criminal justice reform. She is campaigning for the release of another prisoner who was sentenced under the three-strikes policy.

Most people know there needs to be criminal justice reform. Why is the White House having to rely on this celebrity to do anything about it?

Because people like meek mill would rather pander to Jay Z than go and discuss it

At least she is doing something constructive.

Trump has had Kushner working on prison reform since basically day one in office. But you wouldn't know that.

The economy is killing it.

Bwah ha ha.

The economy is nearly identical when you were trashing it under obama.

Labor force participation rate now and when obama left office....exactly the same.

trumps first year of job creation ended up in 5th place out of the last 5 years. IF 2018 job creation continues the remaining 5 months at the pace of the last 7 months, he will make 3rd place.

A slight rise in income under trump, but it's erased due to inflation to actually become a loss.

There is no economic turnaround under trump, no matter how many times you bellow.

Approaching two years in office, and their biggest accomplishment with prison reform has been getting Kim Kardashian to visit twice.

I guess those 100+ days of golfing and 30+ tweets a day take away a lot of time.

You know you’re not officially back till someone calls you a moron or an idiot. I don’t go for that kind of stuff so I’ll leave it up to others. In the meantime, welcome back.

Now...to your point...and I’m not really going to add anything because economic numbers have been argued for years with links and charts that support the opposite findings on the same economic period. Most periods can be presented as both good or bad depending how you present it.

What I’ve read is that the economic upturn began in the last 6 months of the Obama admin and has continued through Trump’s early presidency. Since the effects of any presidential start can’t possibly have a huge effect immediately (outside of optimism in the stock market), I think it’s very possible that some of the credit Trump claims may have been from an inherited upturn. But I also believe that Trump should get a lot of credit for the continued stock market rise. The only fear is that the things that drive that rise, like the rolling back of epa restrictions might be done at an environmental cost that will have to be picked up by future presidents.

But I caution those who are dancing to the tune of the economy, because it is a cyclic ship that turns slowly. The longer Trump is in office the greater the chance that the cycle hits a downturn. And if that happens under his watch, then I can’t imagine how much noise there’s going to be. Right now a good economy, or at least the perception of one, gives him and his followers a place to hang their hat. But if he is re-elected and the economy cycles south like all cycles do from time to time, it could get really ugly for him.

And for those more interested in knowing the truth without regard to whose side it benefits, is there a good non-partisan or non slanted site that presents economic facts without the taint of politics?

while i agree with this statement to the extent that there will be a downturn at some point, it has nothing to do with who is office. remember 2008?

another fun fact: remember the left's scare tactic of how the market would plummet if trump was elected president? i damn sure do. i pulled all funds out of stocks & mutuals and put into a mm account to not lose anything. only thing i lost on was some of the gains when the market exploded out of the gate after he was elected.

that seems to be the left's m.o., scare tactics: market's going to crash. trump's a nazi. russia. etc. etc. etc.

thanks for the link, greed. has some good information and almost every one of the points back up his claim as fact:

"In the second quarter of this year, the United States economy grew at the amazing rate of 4.1 percent."
Trump is correct about the 4.1 percent growth rate for gross domestic product in the second quarter of 2018.

"These numbers are very, very sustainable."
Independent analysts are skeptical about how long this growth spurt can last. while i agree, they also told us the market would crash with him as president.

"The year before I came into office, private business investment grew at only 1.8 percent. Last year, it jumped to 6.3 percent. … This year, it's growing at 9.4 percent, so that's a very tremendous increase."
The math checks out.

"We had lost almost 200,000 manufacturing jobs under the previous administration. … Since I was elected, we've added 400,000 new manufacturing jobs."
The math is roughly right

"We have added 3.7 million new jobs since the election, a number that is unthinkable if you go back to the campaign."
Trump’s number is in the ballpark.

"We are in the midst of the longest positive job growth streak in history."
That’s correct.

"African American unemployment is the best it's ever been in the history of our country."
This was correct

"Women unemployment rate recently reached the lowest level in 65 years."
The current level is 3.7 percent. That’s certainly low by historical standards

"Consumer confidence has reached historic highs."
Consumer confidence is high at the moment, but it’s not at a record. The Conference Board’s Consumer confidence index was higher in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

i'm certain you'll find a win under each category, specifically those that follow up the above with some sort of "but" or "however". problem is, "but's" and "however's" contain no facts, just a lot of opinion . . . you know, like "the stock market will crash if trump is elected president".

No, it is not the same. I am directly related to the early development of the economy in the sales I do. We are far ahead of where we were under any year of Obama and ahead of last year. Record setting. We can almost draw a timeline of when it really went wild.

They should be praising Trump for the job he's done. The economy is so good, and unemployment is so low, even Kaperdicky has a job.

True. But, they want misery and class warfare along with the race card. It is all they have.

Holy shit, we agree on this.

What is important is how an administration reacts to an economic crisis.

That said, Trump could very well blow up the current economic cycle with trade war stuff. His "trade wars are easy to win" bullshit will then bite him square on the ass. Trade wars are not easy to win.

What do you sell, the bullshit supply for this administration?

Bullshit and misery sales are going through the roof. The White House can’t load up on enough.
with the #walkaway movement going on, one would think the misery sales would be falling off. fewer libs in misery as many are seeing the light. #walkaway

yeah, and it could very well turn the current economic cycle up another click with the trade negotiations.

see the differences in wording and outlook?
- you never trumpers call it a war, those of us for america call it negotiations
- you never trumpers automatically assume anything trump does is going to cause havoc on america. everything from him taking office - "ohhhhhh, woe is us, the stock market will certainly crash!! CRASH, WE SAY!!!" to this, "that trade war going to cause the market to crash!"

christ on a bicycle, you fvckers never cease to amaze.

Trade war, indeed. Trump's own words:

So Trump is now a "Never Trumper"?

Also, I don't know how anyone with an education can think trade war (and make no mistake, when countries are tariffing the shit out of each other, tit for tat, it's a trade war) does not immediately have a negative impact on parts of the economy. Production capabilities do not magically appear overnight. Extra costs are not absorbed by the ether. The Trade War Fairy does not come down and buy shit sitting in warehouses and agricultural products rotting in storage. You putting Jesus on a Schwinn and your ohhhhhh's and ALL CAPS might make sense had I not been the one here calling for this exact thing for years while also warning there would be pain while we righted our ship. Do most people who voted for/support Trump and believe his words understand this? Probably not, considering we are already seeing major bitching in certain segments of the economy. Will this all make the stock market crash? Probably not, but what do you know, this post of yours reads like you think the stock market is the only economic indicator...another sign you don't know what you are rambling about.

Maybe because I am one of the few here interested in having an intelligent conversation about these issues.

Donald Trump could croak today from a massive heart attack and this trade issue would not go away. While I am glad he is addressing trade, I'd rather not have a batshit crazy fvckhead in charge of the codes.

It did sell. That was my old neighborhood though. Jermaine sold it.

He remembers the specifics of it well because they threw a huge party after Jermaine left. Herdman was also forced to take down the "There goes the neighborhood" sign he had in his front yard with an arrow pointing to Jermaine's [crack]house.
