Heat looking to trade Whiteside

Whiteside will command 10 million+ per year on the open market this summer and the Heat won't be able to afford him, likely has little to do with his recent ejection, by most accounts be had been doing much better attitude wise.

huh? because he's with them now, they can actually offer him more than other teams, though marginally more.

I didnt think they had his bird rights but maybe they do

they don't, but they can still offer him more than any other team, they just can't go over the cap to do so. without knowing what the cap will be, we'll have to wait and see. if they wanted, they could give it to him if the cap number is on the higher of the projected end, they could get wade who is older to take less than a max number for more years, they could move mcroberts, etc.

The best thing for Hassan would be to get traded.

He will be a free agent and will demand a huge contract this off-season

He won't be a restricted FA if he was to stay in Miami. They trade him, they give up their rights to match any deal. Miami trades him while his value is hot and can get back pieces. Also it frees up room for potentially LeBron coming back in FA this year (His 2 years deal is up)

And obviously Miami doesn't see a future for him if they are trying to trade him.

he's an unrestricted free agent whether he stays in miami or not to finish out the season.

Unless he adjusts his attitude, he won't last anywhere and teams are tired of dealing with head cases.

Teams will also make exceptions for someone average 4 almost 5 blocks a game and is pretty much a guaranteed 12-10-5 guy every night. He will see big money this off season. That much is guaranteed. The question will be, will it be from a Contender or from a bum always in the lottery team.

Plus he isn't a head case but more of someone who isn't as serious personality wise as D. Wade or Pat Riley.

The article linked talks about the finical aspects weighing as much as the attitude aspects. And they don't have his bird rights, so they aren't likely to keep him this summer like you said.. but they can't easily trade him either because his salary at this time is less than 1 million.. And in the NBA teams can't trade in less the fiancees are fair for both teams.. Meaning the Heat would need to find another 1 million dollar player they'd be willing to give up Whiteside for.. Or pair him with other players.
