HERD leads at halftime

One win after being embarrassed by WVU and he has us playing better lol

Let's look at it another way. We've won four out of our last five with our only loss coming to a top 20 team. By the way WVU has beat non Marshall opponents by 46, 13, 41, 53, 8, 22, 33, 42, and 25. There only loss was to Virginia. But their non Marshall victories have come by an average of over 31 points. They beat Marshall by 18.

This team is playing better.

Amazing how you always give Doc a pass but consistently throw shade at DD. Bball SOS is rated 79th, what do you think the football teams record would be with the same?

Basketball is different, one game doesn't show me anything.

And the way @GK4Herd broke it down, it shows that the team is playing better. Also even though we are playing Grand Canyon(I thought Houston was supposed to be here) and win the championship maybe that could be a confidence boost.

But you know what, let's see how they look after these next 5 games.

If one game doesn't show you anything than why throw in the "one game" against WVU? And you completely avoided my question.

I agree. Let's keep watching. I admit I went to the dark side with this team early on as well. But its more important to me for our team to be improving than for me to be right about my early negativity. We all want the same thing here. So for now I'm hopeful with what I see.

This is a Wyoming team that took a 9-2 Cal Bears team to OT before losing by 6.. This is a pretty solid win for us. You also have to take into account that Wyoming is a much more comparable team than WVU to what we will be playing once the important part of the season starts.. Conference play.

Only 5 teams in our conference having winning records (two of those are 1 game above .500 at 6-5).. Then you have two teams at 5-6, another (and us) at 4-7, then North Texas at 4-8 and none of the bottom four teams in the league have more than 2 wins.

I do think this team has gotten better and I think they have an opportunity to make some noise in a fairly weak league. Competing in conference would be a good first step for this basketball program since we basically blew the whole thing up as DD was arriving.

this team is going to continue to get better. The future is bright.

But to answer your question, I don't know what our record would be in football, I don't speak in Hypotheticals

Totally agree, I get that there is a ton of new players on the roster and they are needing to Gel with each other. And I am pleased we have won 4 out of our last 5 and in position to win an in-season tournament. But I will look at our team once we finish the OOC and see how we finished. I need to see consistency and hopefully an improvement in Recruiting

This was the most fun I've had watching the Herd in a long time. It wore me out just sitting there cheering. I was somewhat surprised by the number of Herd fans in attendance. Not nearly as many as GCU, and Wyoming but as many or more than Houston. I would say 50 or so wearing green. Wyoming an GCU had more than 200 each.

really? You point out one thing and try to spin questions in order to make yourself look good. Once again there is no need to discuss anything sports related with you

50 Houston basketball fans to watch a Game is an accomplishment in my eyes

Obvious questions you can't answer.
Tell me again about the top 5 defense KSU had and what our SOS per Sagarian was? Remember it's the number in parenthesis.

And Once again, Jeff Sagarin has said numerous times his SOS rankings are not exact and have built in flaws

you keep saying that, but in following him (and ratings in general) for years i've never seen such a statement from him regarding his sos rankings.

Did Kent State at the time we played them had a Top 5 defense, yes or no

They gave up 52 to Illinois and averaged giving up 25 Ppg in the three games prior to us. If that's your definition of a "Top 5 defense" you should stop posting on here forever.

Once again, at the time of the game what did the NCAA team stats say? Answer my question. Hell go back and watch Doc's pregame press conference on Kent State. I want you to notice how he mentioned them as a Top 5 defense numerous times and leading up to the game numerous players commented on how good of a defense they had.

Also we watch the Illinois game, Illinois had a ton of short field possessions including a few on the Plus side of the field to start. Not hard to score when all you have to do is travel 45 years to score

Top 5 defenses don't get shredded by Ohio for 300 yards rushing either. But to be fair they did finish 30th in total defense with the 90th ranked schedule.
