Here's some nuggets from the weekend:

We learned in the War Room that Marshall coaches are showing interest in Louisville native and current Beckley Prep player, Chance Moore. Moore is a 6'8 wing player. I think an offer is soon coming his way and will be a player to watch this winter.

Also, Marshall hosted some visitors this weekend.

  • 6'7 wing player from Zanesville, OH, Cam Brooks. Marshall offered Brooks back in July. Brooks is a smooth wing player who seems to be a little late growing into that 6'7 frame. He may be catch a lot more attention from bigger schools, but Marshall seems to have gotten in early on him. He still has the tweet pinned on his twitter from when Marshall offered him back in July. We were his second offer. He would fit in that Darius George mold. Marshall has been in need of long wing players every bit as much as big men. Brooks has offers from Marshall, Stony Brook, Akron, NKU, Kent State, and Cleveland State.

  • 6'5 guard, current Marshall verbal commit, Jeremy Dillon. It's good the basketball staff got Dillon on an official visit. There's some worry about whether or not he wants to play basketball or football at the next level. I know Dillon absolutely loves Marshall'a coaching staff and has told me numerous times that he doesn't want to play basketball anywhere else. The only question will be what he wants to play. I see Dillon as a combo guard coming into Huntington. Probably start off as a 2-guard with the ability to slide to the point, if need be. With him being 6'5, he can easily play the 1-3 positions.

  • Keeping it in-state, Marshall also had Logan product, David Early, for aN unofficial visit. Early is a strong guard, with a similar body to Giddy Potts at MTSU, except Early is 6'4 where Potts is only 6'2. Early would be an incredible get to sit behind and eventually fill in for CJ Burks. Marshall is currently Early's only offer, but Bob Huggins is very interested and I wouldn't be surprised if wvu didn't offer him soon.

  • Sasha Sukhanov, yet another in-state product right down the road at Teays Valley Christian, is a skilled 6'11-232lb big man. Like how Early would be a nice piece to sit behind and eventually fill in for Burks, Sukhanov would fill the same role with Penava. Sukhanov is much more physically prepared for college than Penava was and is much more crafty in the paint. The ball handling, passing, and court vision or someone pushing 7' is a very intriguing skill-set for D'antoni's system. Sukhanov has offers from Kennesaw State, ODU, Stony Brook, and Rhode Isand.

  • 2019 recruit, also a Teays Valley Christian product, Anderson Mirambeaux, was also on a visit this weekend. Mirambeaux is a 6'8 275lb big man who already has offers from Hampton, St. Louis, Stony Brook, and Akron. Mirambeaux has a body type similar to Iran Bennet and has good feet for someone his size, also similar to Bennett. He'll be one to keep an eye out for.
  • Finally, a 6th visitor was on campus this weekend. This one is a young one. 2021 recruit, Noah Rittinger. Rittinger is currently a 6'0 point guard going into his HS freshman season and will also be playing for Teays Valley Christian. Here's a small writeup on Rittinger's game from his AAU team's (Big Shots WV--same as Frampton, Johnson, Cuffey, West, George, etc.) page.
Noah Rittinger 2021 6’0 PG WV King James
BIG SHOTS WV Top 100 Next Gen MVP, Top 2021 Performer, Noah was impressive at WV Top 100, Lefty shooter showed his elite skill level with his speed, ball handling, ability to pass it in traffic, scored with touch around the rim using left and right, has knockdown jumper off the dribble and catch. He has mastered the Greg White ball handling drills at a young age, Pure PG that makes right decisions with the ball, plays with great pace to his game, understands angles, fun to watch, Scored 20 pts and led division in assists, BIG SHOTS WV 2021 No. 1 prospect, one to watch.

  • Also, Hernation has learned that Marshall is in contact with Levi Cook, who just announced he is transferring from DePaul.

Basketball news seems to be picking up. Stay tuned!
