I watched both games on this trip. To be honest we may have played better against UTEP. A few costly mistakes near the end of the game lost it for us. We do get a little lax at times and that bothers me, but this team is talented and fun to watch

Agree, but the coach has to have his hand on this issue. A few more coaching time outs would be ok in my eyes.

Agree totally. UTEP game was at least the second game, Tenn. was first, that Danny D. waited way, way too long to use timeouts to try and stem opposing team's momentum. In both games, TOs came too late, IMO, and we ended up with tough defeats.

Tennessee the team hadn't synced yet, they are in sync now. We are 2 players away from being a real force.

I'm curious how many recruits we can go after next year and who he goes after. I see the Poca kids as being a great fit for DDs system.

Cuffee and Frampton (Poca players) are both juniors and getting lots of attention. Hope is that Frampton will come because brother is already here.
DD will be recruiting against some good programs I.e., UVA which has been watching these two since they were Freshmen.

I will have to say I am very impressed with this team. For a team made up of WV conference players and a high school coach (according to many on this board and other boards) I'm pretty impressed that this late in the season we are in position to be a high seed in the CUSA tournament and we are actually winning conference road games.

I'm also impressed that we have been playing well enough that a double digit win over a conference team is seen as a game where many of our fans saw lots of flaws rather than just celebrating the fact we won a game. To me that's major process because I don't think ANYBODY on this board or other boards would think after the first 6 games of the season we would have anything to worry about when we actually won a game.

Go Herd keep rolling!

Isn't Cuffee already committed to play at Liberty?

Yes, but it's still early. It sounds to me that Danny's top 3 choices from WV are Johnson from Ripley, Frampton from Poca and West from Notre Dame. He really loves West

Yep.

Doesn't seem like there will be room for Cuffey, even if he had a change of heart.

Bottom line is Danny better get a Juco or Grad transfer to take James Kelly's place that can play right away and be a force. Without Kelly this team wouldn't have won 6-7 games. The dude is a beast!

Agree. As it stands we are going to be up the Wazoo with guys 6'4" or smaller for next 2-3 years if Danny gets all those above names. We need some talented "bigs" in 6'6" to 6'8" range, or above, to fill out front line needs. Either the red shirt from Louisville, one of the big high school recruits for next year, early signees, or even Nikolic, are going to have to step and give us some inside offense by committee in next year or so, or as SportsFan2010 notes, we need another "instant offense" transfer to step in for Kelly.

Thompson+Paneva+Dozic+Bledsoe+Williams could surprise.Thats 6"7, 6'9, 6'9, 6'6 and 6'9. A warrior grad transfer would still be very welcome

Danny is VERY high on Dozic and Penava. He believes that they both play the way he wants and that particularly in Penava's case, more time in the weight room will make a difference.

Just wonder if down the road whether Kilgore will get PT..maybe as a third yr player for ex? Know he can shoot but can he handle the ball, pass, rebound for his size etc? Like his stroke a lot.

I think he could easily fill the role that Loop has in the offense. He may be a bit more athletic as well. Kilgore won the state track championship in the 400m and 800m I believe. If I'm not mistaken his 400m was under 50 seconds. That isn't slow.

Just looked it up. Kilgore won the 400m with a time of 49.09. That isn't too shabby.

Peneva needs weight, strength and aggressiveness.....but for his build you can see the coordination and ball skills

It just might be a little scary what kind of points we can put up by tourney time. If you think about this team being comprised of mostly new guys...of the starters 3 new plus Loop and Taylor. Of top subs, only the minutes Edmonds gets which hasn't been much are from a returner. So we have a team learning to play with each other (elmore started in mid December and was not healthy the first month) and the offensive out put keeps increasing. We've lost a couple games where we feel we could have shot better. If you look at the points the Herd put up with this style in late 60s early 70s without the three point line......I'm just sayin.....we could crap our pants about the offensive out put in the future. I mean we are dropping over a 100 with the bench cleared and a lot of guys who don't play, playing several minutes. we also have these stretches every game of sloppiness or getting a little lax. clean that up, get hot? think about it.
