Did you watch his round yesterday? I think he's still a long way off, but I'm starting to see signs of heading in the right direction. He struggled yesterday but he seems to be finding the fairway off the tee a little better. Even with a bad round, he made a few really great shots, almost holing out on a par 3 and that amazing shot on 18 that allowed him to take bogey. I don't know if you saw it, but he had a down hill lie about 15 yards from the green where he had to carry a bunker and a pin placement that left zero room. There's no way you get that close. I have no clue how you flop it that high and land it that soft with a downhill lie like that. Tiger just smiled. He knew it was good.

In other news, the heat is being turned up on Phil a little with the gambling allegations.

And I truly expect the Tiger haters to hit this thread. :p

I forgot Tiger was even playing in this tourney. Just checked the leaderboard - looks like the progress he made on the front nine today is being negated by his play on the back.

Tiger is doing better and getting closer. By next season, I think he will be back in full contention and winning.

Look at this statistics over the last two tournaments in the USA. Ball striking is good, putter is coming back, health is better, and he is getting better off the tee box.

I listed to Hank Haney's radio show the other day and you know he speaks openly and honestly about Tiger. He says he is close and really should have won the Greenbrier. He said statistically he was at the top and 4 bad shots cost him. He said he watched the tapes again and if Tiger takes one bad shot a day out he wins the Greenbrier going away.

Golf needs Woods.

GK, there are rumors floating around that Callaway golf at one point may have helped Mickelson pay off some gambling debts. This may get ugly one of these days.

The thought Tiger will never win again is folly, I believe he will win several more times. Majors are more problematic but 1 or 2 could easily happen especially since he has a crack at Augusta National every year.

Duke, based on what? I've had my fun kicking Tiger fans when he's down (& he's been down for years now) but it would be nice to see a player that was once great make a comeback & play against Rory & Jordan. However, I just don't think Tiger has it in him. Not only is he plagued with a bad back, he'll be 40 next year & those two things together are deadly. Plus, Jordan keeps getting better.

Jordan can't win them all. Tiger won't be as dominate as he once was, but he has enough left in the tank to win again.

Its based on my gut feeling and 55 years of playing and watching golf, it is just an opinion. By the way Woods won 5 times just 2 years ago and was named player of the year, so there is some very recent history.
