A major fundraising effort is under way to purchase hundreds of new kelly green uniforms for the Marching Thunder! They deserve to look their best on gamedays and when they travel for competition! Here's your chance to make a difference. Collectively, we could make a big impact in the effort for a small individual contribution.

Well, being a former band geek.. I had to do $100. Since my mom knows how it goes and had to raise uniform money when I was in Jr. Highand High School both, she added a $100.00.

I'm really excited about the improvements in the band. They never stayed in the game after half time and now they are playing and adding to the excitement the whole game! Also added to the basketball games. I can't wait to see what is in store this year.

The uniforms are $500 a piece and we need like 300 of them. This is the band not the football team and Dr. Dalton isn't making very many friends around the University and community. I'd be willing to bet the band has substantially fewer members this year.

The athletic department isn't going to write a check for this. I am sure they can find plenty of uses for $150K besides buying uniforms that, except for a few changes, are copies of Alabama's.

I'm sorry but i dont sugar coat these things. I know many of you agree too and i dont drink the Kool Aid or wear the green glasses. We want to be a big time program but we as a university cannot afford to pay for our band uniforms and have to rely on or ask already paying and donating fans to help pay for them. We can never be big-time if we have to resort to such measures. Pretty Sad. With that said I'll probably help - just saying it's sad.

Wait. How is the band director not making friends in the community or at the university? I was in band during the early Steve Barnett years and am just curious what people don't like about Dr. Dalton. I personally think he improved the playing in the stands, but the halftime shows were awful. Also, the new uniforms are not my cup of tea. I like something simple. Thinking about donating but want to know what is going on before I do.
