Neither groups would give him enough votes to win a national election.

Really is a pity. I'm jealous of a mythical hick in Flatwoods living in an old Clayton, working at the Flatwoods Wal Mart, Go Mart, or the Gassaway Kroger. A mythical hick who never got sucked into TV and school's riches.

He bags groceries with glee, laughs with the locals as he mops up aisle 7, and blares George Strait as he cruises up and down I-79 in his old pickup.

Sometimes I go back and see if the mythical hick is there living the dream. They never are. Only sad, downtrodden faces wishing they could leave.

That shows why the GOP must nominate a fighter, and it may even be too late for that to work. In 2000, it took Al Gore blowing it in the debates for Bush to win a coin flip in a virtual tie. 16 years later, the demographics are even more bleak for the GOP.

They've tried being like the Democrats in the last two elections. Failed miserably with that strategy. They must embarrass Hillary Clinton on that stage and in those campaign ads. And they must instill a sense of pride back in the people of this country.

There's no pride anymore. It's all "can't do this, can't do that" and a culture of dependence.

It's a big job, maybe an insurmountable job. If anybody's going to do it, it must be an ass kicker and not a grab asser.

They could just automate this whole thing and have the people submit electronic votes on how they want to handle each issue. No more power brokers. Just workers to carry out the results of the voting.

However, the system still calls for installing people in positions to push these buttons. They're the biggest talkers I've ever seen. They go on and on, travel all over and address crowds all day. Imagine being as big a talker as these politicians. Lot of wannabes at used car lots, but politicians are the biggest of the big leagues in talkers.

Some Republicans got pissy and voted for Ross Perot. Had there not been Ross Perot Bill Clinton would have gotten trounced and we wouldnt be in the position we are today with Hillary.
