Pretty much the same scenario when Elmore transferred, I believe.Im still shocked that kid has to sit an extra semester when he has not played at all yet. crazy
So we don't need more guards? Dan still thinks center is our weak spot(I Bee not working out?)?
It has nothing at all about playing. It has to do with he attended classes the first semester at Furman. Even if he had gone there as a non athlete, he would still need a year to wait.Im still shocked that kid has to sit an extra semester when he has not played at all yet. crazy

About like the UGA QB who will be starting at OSU this fall.It has nothing at all about playing. It has to do with he attended classes the first semester at Furman. Even if he had gone there as a non athlete, he would still need a year to wait.
Of course we all know P5 schools can do what ever they want. They simply tell the NCAA they will pick up their marbles and go home. That would put the NCAA out of business. Remember, member institutions voted to give the P5 schools autonomy a few years ago. All to get 1 bowl slot.About like the UGA QB who will be starting at OSU this fall.
Yep. I just like to point out the absolute hypocrisy of college sports whenever I can.Of course we all know P5 schools can do what ever they want. Let's not forget about Tate Martell being immediately eligible at Miami because his feelings were hurt that Fields transferred in.Yep. I just like to point out the absolute hypocrisy of college sports whenever I can.
He turned down visits to Georgetown and Providence. Purdue called him last week and he let them know he had no interest,So we sign another Serb - 6’7” Marko Sarenac - who had only one offer and one school interested - Marshall. Google him and the limited highlights. Hopefully this player will materialize quicker than our others. BTW Meister can you tell us why Dan played every player on the team EXCEPT the Serb - Ante Sustic - in the CIT championship?
I really like Sarenac’s tape. Very skilled for his size.He turned down visits to Georgetown and Providence. Purdue called him last week and he let them know he had no interest,
bb - my mind is wobbly - tell about the 7 footer(s?)Well we have had 7 footers in the past. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

MU has had on the roster?
Danny told me that he gets more excited about him the more he sees him.I really like Sarenac’s tape. Very skilled for his size.
I agree with this. He looks like he could play some of that point-forward role for us. He looks really skilled & polished for a 6’7 player.Danny told me that he gets more excited about him the more he sees him.
He had not seen any video of him this past year until a couple weeks ago. He said he is so much better now than when we offered him.
Twoif, I'll take that bet. By the way, Chris, I understand that Nickolic has really blossomed into a star and is now everything that we hoped he would be here.
Those who have watched this team practice and Danny himself, are convinced that next year we will be a better team than this year. What gets me is we are basically in the same spot for next year, no proven 5 to come in and help, while losing Jon and CJ.
It seems like we have some good young talent to take over their roles but it’s gonna be a learning process early next year and expectations need to be tempered.
If we go .500 or better, that would be pretty darn good, all things considered.

We will be more athletic and for the first time, we truly will play the D'Antoni offensive system. Both Mike and Danny have had to adjust the system due to personnel. Hardin in Houston and CJ and Jon here.
If you watched the system when it worked its best, in Phoenix, the ball was in constant motion. I believe we will see that next year. I can't wait until the first week of June to get here
This is what I’m excited to see. You are correct about us being so ball dominant with our offense. IMO, we were too reliant on the talent creating scoring opportunities instead of the system—which is what you see in Houston. Mike’s offense in Phoenix was the perfect balance. I’m a little worried about us not having that Steve Nash type of player, which is what Elmore gave us earlier in his career. Losing Burks & Elmore will suck, without a doubt. But I’m also excited to see our length and athleticism, along with the ball pressure we can apply with it (we saw it at times in the CIT).Those who have watched this team practice and Danny himself, are convinced that next year we will be a better team than this year.

Obviously a Stave Nash doesn't come along all the time. I do believe, however, that you will all be very pleased with Taylor running the offense. This is what I’m excited to see. I’m not expecting us to be as good or better next season, but I’m expecting us to exceed expectations. It’ll take some time for everyone to get settled into their roles, but I think we’ll still play exciting basketball and will be very competitive in CUSA in what is supposed to be a rebuilding year. The bottom won’t fall out like it did to MTSU.

He is a bigger stronger player than Jon. When you look at all his points he scored in KY high school, he is a proven scorer as well. Then you add the athleticism of Marko and Brooks-Harris and other newcomers.
he won't start next year but will get some PT. We are so deep now, his time, like many others, will be limited~
I want to hear more about Dillon. Is he going to be good enough to "start" and/or "get" a lot of playing time?

He may choose to move on, I have no idea what is in his head. I know he is a good player and works hard. Blue collar type. Of course with what you are saying, anyone that doesn't start should consider moving on?~
The "some" PT is what concerns me! If he is/was that good....why would he want to stay and possibly end up like Christian Thieneman???
I think you have misunderstood my comments. I am just curious why so many on various boards have posted what a good player he is (and as you just now said "blue collar", works hard, etc.) wouldn't get quality playing time (please understand I am NOT trying to start an argument.....just trying to more fully understand). He may choose to move on, I have no idea what is in his head. We are just loaded at the guard and forward positions with quality players.
If he chooses to do so, there is no reason Danny couldn't go full bore defensively and interchange players every few minutes to keep fresh bodies.
I agree, but this is where our “positionless basketball” comes into play. Take Kinsey this season for example. It was rumored in preseason that we were considering redshirting him, because he was recruited as a guard and we were deep at guard (Elmore, Burks, West, & Watson). Where was he going to play? Well, he took off at the beginning of conference play when we tried him out at the 4. That’s where he played all season and even played some 5 in a pinch when Williams got in foul trouble. That's just it, Herdmeister, if we are very deep at one or two positions and that depth is fairly closely bunched in terms of talent, then the competition for PT is going to be tight. Then one could reasonably expect that a player or players will not clearly understand why so and so is getting more playing time than he is or they are. The old "not enough basketballs to go around" syndrome. Then, being young, competitive athletes, it shouldn't come as a surprise if one or more seek more PT elsewhere (see Phil Bledsoe).

We are deep on the wing, but we can slot guys at the 2 & 4 spots to get them on the floor, if they’re good enough. We can go as small/big as we want. We can use offensive/defensive lineups now.
I envision a lot of players getting minutes, but it won’t be spread out evenly each game. Depending on matchup, flow of the game, and how we want to play on a given night, one player could get 25:00 one night and 12:00 the next.
