I was in N.O. when the Saints went through the bag gig; not good for the players and it would be the biggest slap in the face for young men committed to the Herd and our university I've ever seen. It’s not the players fault they were given scholarships that their abilities did not warrant. However, since college athletes want the perks of being a professional these days, they should expect the bad that goes with it.

They aren’t anything but hired guns that roam from town to town looking for the next opportunity. Anyone think any of our players wouldn’t jump at a chance to go to a bigger school?

Well, but look at the average attendance in CUSA and the SBC in basketball. For that matter look at the high school looking gyms, not arenas, gyms both leagues have. Token efforts at basketball are acceptable in either league.

But not to us. We much make it clear that we expect and demand a legitimate effort at basketball. We expect and demand to be very near the top in either of these football focused leagues. We do not accept token efforts.

And a serious commitment to basketball, on the part of those in power means:

Fire DD
Fire the staff
Get a serious and qualified coach in here
Run off as many players as possible.
