That figure will go south on the next TV contract if ESPN is losing money now. The death of the non P-5 conferences will be when athletes start getting paid. That will happen in the next decade.

lol, they are getting paid now! They started two or three years ago. Agreed, when the next contracts come up can schools like Wake Forest, Pitt, Syracuse, and others from the ACC that has a low TV contract and no real fan base support avoid to pay the stipends.

Earlier this year the Big XII commissioner estimated that their payout to each member team this year would be over $34 million. Compare that to CUSA paying its member schools $200 thousand. To answer the question asked in the title of this thread - at that rate it would take 170 years of CUSA payments to equal what Big XII schools are getting in one year alone. There may be 130 football programs in the FBS division, but clearly there is a huge divide between the P-5 and the rest.
