If our coaches are not yet looking they need to look at Montez Crowe at Troup High School in LaGrange Georgia. He just threw 8 touchdown passes in one game in his amazing this season

Underwood will never see the field at Marshall, as in if he even plays FBS football it won't be in Huntington.

It would be incredibly foolish to stop recruiting QBs for two years, let alone one year. With the attrition that Doc's teams always have, he should really try to bring in at least two kids a year that can pass the ball.

Why do you say that?

At least two Qbs every year? That's not realistic for a number of reasons.

I know it's near impossible to get two QBs a year, however great it would be for ANY program to do so. Just me being wishful. It's supposed to be the most important position on any team (I don't agree), so you have to keep the cupboard as stocked as possible.

Locksley not a lock, flip flops allot like Rodriquez in terms of decision making. I say we stay home and look at the kid from Wheeling Park.

The kid from Martinsburg right now has 1300 yards passing, 79% comp pct, 20 TD's, zero ints in only 6 games and playing about 2 qts a game. Also has 4.3 GPA and won 20 games straight as a starter.

that's your kid at QB

My guess would be Zban, but I won't swear to it.
I think he may be the only one. I can't remember us ever having any WV recruits that were scholarship recruits at the QB position. I'm sure we did going back to the 70s and 80s, but not from the 90s forward except for Zban.

I don’t think Wells can play at Marshall. Green is really good and I think our QB of the future. So glad he can RS this year.

dangerousdan the kid you are referring to has only “verbally committed” to DD. FAU has offered football scholarship along with some others. Someone else on here posted that this kid won’t play QB at the next level. Maybe not at Marshall but perhaps someplace else. Kid loves football.

FAU offered Jeremy Dillon a football scholarship?

If he isn't good enough to play QB at MU, what makes him good enough to play the position at another FBS school? There is also no way in hell he can play QB in Kiffen's system when you compare the complexity of it to Legg's offense.

Chris see Williamson Daily News (7/11/17) FAU offered according to the article. James Madison and Morehead have offered. At FAU there is a Mingo County connection in there offensive line coach - Garin Justice from Gilbert. I’m just quoting from the article. Perhaps he will not be interested in playing football but if you have seen thus kid he’s pretty darn good regardless of competition. Remember he had only verbally committed to us for basketball- not on the dotted line just yet OR did I miss his signing?

Interesting.

From the info we've received (some of it directly from Dillon) those offers don't exist. If they did, I'd be worried about him playing basketball at Marshall because you're correct when you say he loves football.

And to answer your question: Dillon can't sign (for basketball) until November.

Right about signing and I hope he wants to stay close to home. Not sure why the Williamson paper put those schools in the story but it’s there in black and white. Maybe Dillon not wanting to upset people here. I don’t know. In any case he is an athlete.

Hopefully Chris his basketball coach at Mingo Central - Kevin Hatfield will offer encouraging words to sign with Marshall, be close to home so his folks can see him play.

If he doesn't sign a BB grant in aid with MU during the early signing period starting in November then that would possibly indicate that Dillon could be waiting to see what kind of football offers he'll get in the late fall and winter period.

I agree with oldeherd on this. Lot of people say he can’t play at the “next” level - college. Well maybe not at QB but he is an all around athlete.

Just to put some spin on this...

Chris Smith (South Point OH) was scholarship. (I know not WV, but closer than even Charleston is to Htown)

The questions is here...since Marshall has gone to DI-A (FBS) can we name the quarterbacks from the state of WV worth recruiting? I honestly don't know and didn't take time to research.

I'd like to see us recruit this kid. 1017 yards so far this year, 9.2 yards per carry. The one team in the highlights, Central Cabarrus, is where Natrone Means went for you old school guys.
