I may have to reconsider being a conservative republican. The way they have treated a true American
hero is shameful, but he is not the only one. I am beginning to be convinced this is a shameless, hateful, party. Although they claim to be Christians I do not see any evidence of them being so. Even the Moral Majority Leaders and Preachers are all to eager to turn their back on Christian Teachings for the sake of money. It is a sad time for my party.

We have to get back to being that "shining city on a hill". We have to be good again, after all
you cannot be great again without being good again.

Be independent so you can make your own mind up and not follow party lines and their agendas like a mindless robot.

I’ve been preaching the blindness of ideological lockstep group think for several years now. My wife and I are close to changing our registration to independent. If anything it will give us a choice in the primaries. And the beauty of it all is you get the ancillary benefit of being called an idiot by both sides. Winning.

Here's a free sample....you're an idiot.

:):):)

First who is dherd quoting?

Second, have Democrats ever besmirched McCain’s service? I’ll let you know if you answer no I’ll share many, many quotes doing just that including former democrats presidential candidates. So please stop with the fake anger.

the man is sick. the man has brain cancer. the man is dying. your comment is an example of what I mean.
you display purposeful thoughtlessness for no better reason than petty tribalism.
you are not the kind of person who defeated hitler and built the greatest nation in history.
not only that, but it makes you look small and mindless.

WV has open primaries? That is stupid.

From the WV Secretary of State website...

“As a voter, your political party makes a difference when you vote in the primary election because it determines which ballot you may receive. If you are registered with one of the four recognized political parties (Democratic, Libertarian, Mountain, or Republican), you may only vote that party’s ballot or the non-partisan ballot. If you are registered with any other party or with no party, you may ask the poll worker for one of the recognized party’s ballots, or they will give you the non-partisan ballot.”

And this article directly addresses the issue of being registered independent in WV...

“The answer this time around is yes, independents can vote in West Virginia's presidential primary because West Virginia is a hybrid or mixed primary state that allows for it, according to FairVote.org. Essentially, unaffiliated voters can vote either Democrat or Republican (or third-party), but registered Democrats or Republicans can only vote for a candidate of their own party. In this case, independent voters truly get the best of both worlds and the most choices of any voter. Such is only the case in a handful of states, like Rhode Island, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. Some states, like California, Oklahoma, and South Dakota, are mixed primary only as far as Democrats go. This means although registered Democrats can vote outside their party, registered Republicans in those states cannot.”
