Hillary is a crazy eyed wench. But, that damn Bernie Sanders is insane. He wants more of my(our money). At least Hillary will only take moderately more. This guy would tax a family of four making 80 grand a year at $27,700. Is he nuts? He will bankrupt the free enterprise system.

Honestly, anyone that supports Bernie is a fool, retarded, a commie, idiot, a leech, a brain full of mush, or all the these.

Go Hillary.

How about a link?
In the meantime, wouldn't you pay about 13,000 in federal income tax under current law? How much does it cost you and your employer for health insurance, add that to the 13,000. Then add the cost of 4 years college for the kids, add that also.

He would only get part of what he wants, if that. These presidents don't even do anything. Ted Cruz has some wild ideas for taxes that he wouldn't be able to do either.

This is all a whole lot of nothing. Trump's wall, Obama's wars ending, Bush 41's no new taxes, Bush 43's Mission Accomplished. This is why kids should aspire to a career in road kill collection. At the end of the day, you'll probably pick up some dead animals. You'll be doing something. These presidents don't do anything.

Bernie is a better bet than Hillary at this point. He's too wild eyed and crazy for any of his plans to actually be put into action. Hillary has enough influence to make changes, and she gets farther left every week - probably to sway Bernie's college kids to her side. If a Dem wins I hope it's Bernie, at least he's entertaining. I like when he gets fired up, his hands and arms start flailing around. It looks like he's playing an invisible piano up there. It's a hell of a lot better than having to hear Hillary screech her way through a SOTU. Good gawd she's annoying.

So you think he is going to pay for all of that? Somebody has to pay for it.

And, the number presented above is not my annual payment nor salary. It was an example.

You have a good point. He would get nothing done. He would be blocked at every turn and he would soon learn the business world and money people would shut him down.

You told us in your original post that we would have to pay more taxes. But unless you're wealthy, it appears that Bernie offers a situation that actually helps without having to borrow more money as a nation.

So punishing the wealthy is going to help people? How so?

And, what do you consider wealthy?

Doesn't punish me. What's a few extra bucks for one of the very few things that are worth a damn?

Now translating that to this, the rich won't be punished by the increase. They'll still have their mansions, chandeliers, etc., so it's all good. Just tax 'em.

I wouldn't vote for it myself, but that's the thinking of the people these days. Far be it for those who want the money to actually try to do something to earn the money. Let's just take it.

Correct. And it's not punishing wealthy people if you raise their taxes.

Nope it is punishing the poor and middle class as they stop investing and buying. what happens if the owner of my company gets taxed too high? He sits on his money and perhaps cuts cost(jobs) and stops investing in certain arenas. He is still rich but some worker just got the shaft.

Go to eastern NC when there was a luxury tax on large boats/yachts at one time years ago. What happened? The rich people either stopped buying new or went and bought them in another country and docked them. Put the boat factory out of business. So who got hurt? The average guy like who lost his job.

I see. So you think the middle class had it tough in the 50s when the top marginal tax rate was around 90%. And do you think at that time that company owners sat on their money and cut jobs?

As for your luxury tax on yachts and loss of jobs, let's see a link..........

You realize there was no welfare and far fewer entitlements back then as well. I know my parents were still using an outhouse then so, I am not sure how good they had it.

That doesn't make sense. So your argument is that with more welfare and entitlements the top marginal tax rate now should be less than half what it was then. wow

It wasn't long ago (before Greed was laying off employees) that he was on here asking advice on incentivizing his staff with $$$ to improve their productivity.

Now, and not surprisingly, he doesn't seem to understand the "incentivizing" effects of endless govt benefits of not working. When someone is buying your food (EBT), providing your rent (HUD), paying for your internet/cable, and giving you mobile phone service........who really needs to get up and go to a job.

No, what I am saying is that you want to compare the 1950's and what I am saying is that there was no welfare program and entitlement to the level we have now.

So, it is a double edged sword when looking at the good old days.

My analogy is spot on. In neither case is anyone being punished.
It punishes the poor.

Also let say you make a million dollars. Do you think the govt should take half of that? 90%. Is that fair.

Be interesting to what you define as rich.

Dear lord you are either intentionally being that dense or just plain retarded. I have a choice where I buy food. I do not have a choice in paying taxes

No, you're just an idiot. You MUST purchase food or die. Are you being punished when the grocer demands payment for the food you purchase?

Survival and taxes aren't remotely comparable. You're just being ignorant for that sake of being ignorant. Your analogy is flawed you know it so know you're just being annoying

No, you're still being an idiot. The point being discussed is whether or not taxes being raised is a punishment. If raising taxes is a punishment, then raising the price of food or anything else is a punishment.

Raising taxes on the wealthy does not hurt the poor. The poor being hurt by increasing taxes depends on what they get in return for those taxes.

No it's not because I have a choice to purchase a product. I don't have a choice in paying taxes.

What happens when taxes raise and people stop spending that money? The poor get hurt.

Don't be stupid.

You quit being stupid enough to believe the GOP propaganda. Did the people being taxed at 92% top marginal tax in the 50s stop spending money?

Here's to hoping Bernie delivers the knockout punch tonight. It's time he got serious about this thing. People are rallying around him. He better not let them down. Time to break out the e-mails, the crime foundation ripoffs, the fact that she is Tammy Wynette even though she said she wasn't.

Come on, Bernie. Our side is going to put some tackling dummy up there to give her a big hug. It's time for you to grab the old hag by the horns. This is your last chance, Bernie. You're old. You'll be dead soon. This is it. Leave it all on the field.

I hope he does. I'm pulling for the old man tonight.
