To hear after the game doc should be fired is stupid. I quess that comes from fans who knew nothing of the skill of the Miami team. Hate turns the brain to shit. I have never been a litton fan but am not ready to bench him. He had some nice throws but he needs to quit jawing with the other team. Thats redder than hell.

Sister you need to vent to Doc. Agree we have the worst coaching staff that goes conservative when the team needs to continue playing hard. That said I'm glad the Herd won their opener but we can still see Legg's influence in play calling. The one new wrinkle backfired and that was the fake field goal. Can't imagine Miami knew anything because it was the first game but they certainly blew that play up. Doubt we see it again.
Im not venting about Doc at all but give me time. Its a new season. The fans were expecting to lose and bitched alot during the game.I kinda kept my cool which is rare and felt the herd was going to get the upset. I was right and they have a good team too. I dont hate miami. I dislike wku but we dont show enough respect to them. We see ourselves superior to mac teams. We had so much success winning when we made the move to 1 A. Our fans got spoiled and then reality set in. I wish we had more than 1 qb. Chase gets all the snaps. I didnt think he played bad last night.He plays better when he keeps his mouth shut and doest jibber jabber with the defense of the other team. Cocky with no reason why. Rodriguez is what we need. Looks like after one game our receivers can catch and run.Other than yuracheck the last two years our boys missed all the hard passes and ran bad patterns. That is bad coaching.We need a big time coach that has proven he can coach to come to huntington when doc leaves.Fans need to love their coach and that be something that is not an issue. Last night was a big win. 42 years a fan and I feel better about the team this morning than I have in a while..This was bigger than beating purdue.
bbneutralfan, reluctantly, and I really mean reluctantly, I have to give Legg some credit too for trying a pistol formation, which we botched up before the play could unfold. I guess after playing under Doc and Legg's really basic, KISS offensive scheme for the last couple of years or so, its really hard for our players to cope with any wrinkles, trick players, varied schemes, etc. (Did anyone else also notice that we occasionally also put a player in motion back across field towards Litton? I thought I was hallucinating!).
The fake field goal was so obvious. Miami HAD to know our kicking game sucked last year and that we went for it on nearly if not every occasion.
That said, I was in the end zone and it was bad. HOWEVER, after watching the video later, if VEDVIK wouldn't have cut to the inside and sprinted for the chain...he'd have had a helluva better chance.

better as in slim is better than no chance? they stayed at home he would have had to beat one or two DBs to the edge. the picture bleeds showed the other day showed one defender home and to the outside of Vedvik. he wasn't winning that race.
Terrible call when you only have one kicker on your roster that is even close to average. First quarter of your first game and you decide to pitch him the ball??? Are you serious Clark?? All it takes is one hit and you have no kicker for the rest of the season....
