I figure Raleigh would love this

Me and the GF have decided to move to San Diego by the end of the year.

@caliherd what is your thought on San Diego??

Hey Fever San Diego is awesome. It's not near as pricey as Los Angeles unless you live in one of the high end areas like La Jolla. Plus coming from NYC you will think it's actually affordable! There are a lot of job opportunities there as well.

Perfect climate. Not near the smog as Los Angeles. There isn't really much not to love.

Traffic sucks just like the majority of Southern California cities but it's the price you pay for what you get.

You are close to the Mexican boarder so there's definitely a vibrant Hispanic vibe. Great Mexican food. Drink, music, beautiful women (although you are moving with your girlfriend so this one doesn't count as a benefit!) plus by being so close to the boarder lots of inexpensive weekend get aways to Mexican resorts.

The only downside to San Diego is its not near as metropolitan as Los Angeles, so if you like that major city feel it's nothing like L A. I never lived in San Diego, I was a LA guy but I loved visiting. I have several friends who live there who wouldn't live anywhere else. Hope that helps!

Awesome. Good luck in the move. I've always enjoyed visiting S.D. I think its a great city.

(I am sure you mom is excited for you too...;))

Heck yeah cross country road trip in the new "used" car finally
Moving out of moms basement wth the "hottie" Latina.

Yea I have notice its going to be actually cheaper then NY and I want to get away from the Big City feel(#1 reason why I went to Marshall in the first place)

So......what you are saying is.......you really didn't decide to move on your own........

Good grief. Get off the tit.:(

I assume the girlfriend got a transfer or a job offer in San Diego and you're tagging along.

So I am moving to San Diego, my mom is moving to LA or the Bay Area and im hanging on her tit???

Why pay $1500+ for a 1 bedroom in NY/LI when I can pay $1000 and live in Cali

You can get a one bedroom in San Diego for $1000?? That would be a dump in DC/Baltimore.

I am busting your chops. Seriously. Good luck on the move. I think SD would be a sweet place to live and experience. Definitely a different vibe and energy than NYC. Hope it works out for you there.

Same here.....If I had no real job and was young, I'd bolt for Southern California too with another northeast winter bearing down on you.

Not sure what kind of place you are looking at for $1000 though.....And Cali taxes are a bitch. Guess it's the price you pay for 300+ days of perfect weather.

So Cal taxes aren't close to Long Island taxes IMO and if I lived in NYC I would be triple taxed. NYC resident income tax, NY state tax, and Federal.

And Cocky I have seen places online from Oceanside to the border for a 1BR from anywhere from $1000+

Hey, Fev...I thought she was a blue-eyed, blond Lumbee Indian...my bad !!!

The melatonin deficient have a lot of whine. I was referring to your Mom. And, we don't want to see you posting on here as " Aztec Fever".

First off, I don't stay in my moms basement. Secondly, I gave up on white women a long time ago
