We are all bigots. I think it is in our DNA. When every tribe fought every other tribe, it was important to be a bigot.
The question today is, do you allow yourself to act bigoted. This is something I have worked very hard on over my adult life. I've went from listening to White Power music to trying really damn hard to not judge others for their skin. Maybe this is why I had empathy for Robert Byrd.
If you vote for someone who openly appeals to bigotry (and I know you say you did not, this is a generalization of voters), you are not working very hard to overcome your inherited and learned bigotry. It has zero to do with legitimate political beliefs...obviously I am very open to some of Trump's trade policy, for example. The other things that make him a no-good prick have zero to do with political beliefs, he is just a crook and an asshole and plenty of Democrats are as well. None of them get my vote.
Maybe Trump isn't a bigot...but without a doubt, he openly appealed to bigots. That is disgusting. It is just as disgusting as minority Democrats that appeal to minority bigots. Fvck all of them.
