I like our chances to ........

Just as John said, this conf. has really good coaches that can kick his ass anytime they choose

You throw five INTs and turn it over on downs twice and you have no chance regardless if we have Bear Bryant and the other team has Rich Kotite on the sidelines... Our defense could have given up 0 points and we still would have lost 7-0... The Rice coach had a good game plan, but that isn't what won them the game.

Is this one of those, "it's not Snyder's Doc's fault, he can't throw the ball for Cann Wells" responses?

Not at all, we were absolutely unprepared and totally flat... That is 100% on Doc.

Just making the point that no coach in the world was going to make any in-game adjustments to overcome a QB throwing 5 INTs, running out of bounds for 3 yards on 4th and 10, and throwing an 8-yard pass on 4th and 9.

No *Marshall Coach* would do that. Plenty of coaches would change up the play calling, bench a QB, etc, etc. “Benching” wouldn’t even have to be for the game, just pull him out a possession or two and point things out. Zban isn’t the answer, but maybe he could have managed that game and given us a chance over a possession or two.

The could have made adjustments before the half and it got out of control. Could have brought in more 2 TE sets to help in blocking and put more of an emphasis on getting the ball in Knox's hands who was starting to get bigger runs in the second half.

Maybe if our route trees consisted of more variations than screes, swings(that never work), and sending everyone 15+ yards deep.

No. There is plenty this staff could have done early on before it got out of hand.

Doc and Cramsey just bang their heads against the wall with the same play calls and are too stubborn to switch it up when they aren't working. Same thing with Charlotte last year.

Anyone going to sit there with a straight face and tell me that Rice is better than every team we've played to this point?

Heck once you started to see that Grant was pressing and struggling why not bring Gaines in the game and run a couple plays out of the wildcat or whatever we call it? Give Grant a second to collect himself on the sidelines. Bring Zban in for a play or two and let him keep it.

We should have been calling more short and intermediate routes in the middle of the field that was open all day long. Instead we kept calling the same plays that their defense and our OL was not giving time to develop.

I want to give Doc a break on this one, but despite the fact that they hadn't played in 3 weeks, we shouldn't come back and be throwing 5 picks.
I would buy the 3 weeks excuse more if it wasn't for the WKU game. We went from Sept 19 to Oct 10 between App and WKU. That's a longer layoff. We came out with our hair on fire on the road mind you and dominated WKU.

The layoff isn't an excuse. Not saying you're making just saying in general it doesn't factor in.

Kenneth! Welcome back. There are no underage females who post here based on my knowledge, so this is a safe-space for you.

Is Cato doing so well, that he has Fever writing his tweets these days?
He never was very well spoken. He made strides from his freshman year, but still. I always thought the staff should have got him with a speech therapist to help him for interview sake, but I was told that was racist.

Racist? How is that racist? Let's help the young man so he can communicate better and learn a life skill.

That's racist???? Some white guy or gal probably said that was racist.
