I disagree. I think MOST people enter politics with the greatest of intentions in their heart. They then get corrupted especially at the national level

I have said this for years, even when they do have good intentions, the money and power corrupt them.

It's all the pork that goes with politics. 'I'll vote for your bill if you vote for mine." A junior politician can go in with the best intentions and get swallowed up so fast his head spins. That's why Drain the Swamp will never work. It's a great idea but Trump didn't learn from the Tea Party guys who promised to end the status quo in 2012. They were pretty powerless and made asses of themselves until they learned the 'go along to get along' concept.

That is like saying you were rooting for Harvard during the Clemson vs Alabama game.

Pick a side and roll with it

Reality is Trump winning was a revolution without bullets.

He is doing exactly what he was elected to do. Raise hell with DC

I think this is damn near everyone at the national level for the Democrat party. I think GOP'rs get into it purely for deregulation &/or to fight power grabs by government. I think Dems likely have good intentions but very quickly get attracted to the spotlight of a favorable media. And social media has made it about 100x times. These are the times we live in. Look at Elizabeth Warren. All Indian jokes aside, she grandstands so much now that it's impossible to believe she really wants Americans to prosper under Trump. Pelosi, Waters, Durbin, Schumer, Wasserman-Schultz, Perez, etc...all garbage. The best thing to happen to their party was Reid & Rangel retiring & Hillary not going into key states to campaign.

Cheetos is doing nothing with DC other than occupying a seat for which he is unfit. That's it.

You "above the fray" guys crack me up. You're just as political and ideological as the next guy. This notion that some "rational human being" or someone with "common sense" actually exists out there that everybody can get behind is laughable because as soon as you see the "D" or the "R" by their name, half the country will immediately dislike them. So these mythical people are just that...myths...unicorns. They don't exist. Stop trying to act like an intellectual who sees beyond partisan politics. We're all hacks in some form or fashion.

I've only not voted for a presidential candidate once since 1976. Trust me...I ain't rolling with it when the best each side can muster is Trump and Hillary. I'll just pass and suffer the indignation of Pullman. And I'll live quite comfortably with it.

The reality is one of the two was goinf to win.

Of course one was going to win. But not with my vote. You know that Hillary 3 million popular vote margin? I wasn't making it 3 million and one. And Trump's huge WV electoral sweep? He did it without me.

The notion that I should go with one side or the other is silly. If neither side can field a candidate to my liking I'm not holding my nose and pulling the lever.

Yup, same here.

There's no hiding behind anything in this case. If you can't choose between a knowledgeable and experienced candidate who would do no harm at worst, and an inexperienced buffoon who can do no good at best, you really ought not attempt to flaunt that decision or lack of it.

1972 for me. I always leave votes blank if its people I don't know or if they are unopposed. This was my first national ballot left blank in 46 years of voting.

You could have at least felt the Johnson or drank the Stein for that election relief.
