How about parents who find out that their child, going by the statistics, is much more likely not to get their degree, earn much less money compared to other kids, not graduate college, have illegitimate kids that they likely won't help raise, & will likely end up on welfare?

If only two are three kids there are born each year with DS, how does the government provide services for these kids? I can't imagine there is much demand for experts in the field. The numbers alone give pressure to terminate the pregnancy.

It's not a question of money, it's a question of demand for expertise. I know people with Masters and doctorates that specializes in DS services, I don't think they would have much work in Iceland.
