After watching them in their bowl win last year and looking at our schedule I see pure trap game. I can see us easily looking past them to 2 ACC teams that are well regarded. Moreover the plot thickens as Bowden is licking his chops he gets Holgersons job at the end of the year with a win at Marshall a bowl game, and will have his team as focused as any game on his schedule.

The team we pummeled and then laid down on 2 years ago isn't the same team were playing in September. Bowden did his job and went after big JUCOs and his team looked solid.

Don't they have something like 2 starters coming back on offense and 3 on defense?

Absolutely not...they may be a trap game for Eastern Michigan...but not Marshall.

No. They aren't at the point where they reload, they are rebuilding. They may get better as the year goes on, but they are going to be a bunch of guys who have only played one game together when they roll into the Joan.

I don't think it is. We haven't had many "trap" games under Holiday. He does a good job pounding his point to the boys for every game. They don't always perform to the fullest but he sure makes them pay for it if they don't.

NOT a trap game...too much of a rebuilding year for the Joeys...just another cupcake to be ground up and spit out across the turf @ The Joan......BUFFALOS to stampede all over hapless JOEYS :D

They'll leave Huntington plastered in a sea of VANILLA :p

I'll remind everybody we lost to New Hampshire an FCS school....hopefully doc and company echo the message that there can't be lapses . It's win and go undefeated(maybe one loss)...but plenty of time later for some panties and brews . Might not be our year but schedules like this only come so often . get the money, get the fame , get a new conference.

Dude that was a totally different team and a crap coach who couldn't recruit, didn't have control of the team and made the most asinine game day decisions.............nuff said. Its not even the same program as it used to be.

And schedules like this are going to be more common in the up coming seasons, you need to look at what we have scheduled for the future OOC games.

Well winning in the Joan is not easy for anyone...and pretty sure we still had talent on those teams, second teams like Pitt have already starting freezing programs like us out ,like others have said P5vsP5.

I love what hammick is doing but our goal is to get the playin and hope AAC or others can be taken.

Uh we have a home game scheduled vs Pitt, NC State etc. The ACC is one of the p5 conferences not going along with what the B1G is suggesting. And yes you can have talent on teams and lose to them. Snyder was responsible for most of our home losses on the stadium record. You can have all the talent in the world and lose if you suck as a coach. For every talented guy we had on the field, there were 5 more that were FCS caliber players instead of what we needed under him, they were either too slow, not big enough, etc. I am not harping or jumping on you, but please do some research before saying stuff like that.

We need to get to the point that losing to Marshall is not considered a bad loss. We are getting there, but I think we are missing an Access Bowl win before we can achieve that status.

Well last year with purdue was a predicted loss for them, so I guess you can say that it wasn't considered a bad loss for them. Snyder set us back a good ways, no denying that and it will take a little more time for us to be viewed as the threat we used to be, and I don't think anyone will deny that Doc has fastracked that. The one year (2002) we were considered a major threat was Byrons senior year, started ranked, played VT in a primetime game, a lot of hoopla...............and we blew it. That was our chance to prove ourselves the way Boise did later on. Now if say Missouri or any other mid P5 lost to us, yeah it would be a bad loss for them, not saying we shouldn't beat them, just saying how the public would view it or how sports analysts would comment on it. Lets not even get into the upper P5's yet. The only team that has garnered the "its not a bad loss" from the G5 has been Boise, like when they played a good VT team in DC and analyst was not overwhelmingly saying VT would win, so we would have to do what Boise has done more or less.

You know, I also watched their bowl game last year. Looked good and momentum can carry over regardless of starters returning. I think if put them away early, no problem. If we let the Zips linger, could be trouble..trouble
(Dollar Bill).
